MLS Week 25 - 2019 (Heineken Rivalry Week)

Between El Trafico and Hell Is Real derby, does anyone care about the Texas Derby?

does anybody really care about hell is real derby though? i mean, they literally made it up. its not even a true derby since they aren't even local to each other. so what if they're in the same state.

fc dallas and houston are probably the least covered teams in the league, other than RSL. probably cause they never sign any big name talent. just wait til austin comes to town... what are they gonna do? The Texas Triangle Trophy?

El trafico is the only one i'm looking forward to. I love watching Zlatan take the galaxy on his back and let his class speak for itself. at 38/39, it's pretty damn impressive. plus, if they beat LAFC again, then we'll be tied on losses, which is good. Do I expect LAFC to slip up a lot and drop more points the rest of the season? no. but we just need them to draw a handful more games and we win ours and we're back in the supporter shield running. el trafico won't be the same without zlatan though. and he's likely not gonna be around next year.

what? hell is real was the one that the fans made up. Per Wikipedia:
The derby's name was created by fans of both teams in 2017, prior to their first competitive meeting in the U.S. Open Cup.
It's caused 30k+ attendance both times at nippert and 20k+ at mapfre (how rare is that nowadays?)
It's a real derby, not artificially created by the MLS hype train, but by the supporters themselves.

Oh, I know the name was created by supporters, and it's great that they're drawing lots of supporters to games. I'd call it a clasico rather than a derby though.

Cincinnati and Columbus are an hour and a half apart from each other. Depending where you are, it could take you longer to get to New Jersey from NYC

why? It's the same time difference as getting to RBA for lots of people lol

I drove out to east Long Island middle of the day in July, and it took me 2 hours to get from downtown Bkln to the the border of Long Island/borough limits.

Was there an accident? Construction?

It's truly insane to me that one of the league's most high-profile games this weekend is a 10:30pm start on a Sunday. Surely there was a way to get this game on in the middle of the day or in primetime.

EDIT: And the OTHER most high-profile game was 10pm on a Friday. So bad.

There has never been a dull El Trafico game and this is no exception.

exactly. it's been crazy every game. and when you watch .. it's almost like watching an EPL game with how you hear the fans, the stadium is full, the back and forth. this is a great game to promote MLS.

crazy that the "best team in the MLS by far" is getting ripped apart by the galaxy...

I mean, technically it's 7:30pm start time... We're just on the east coast.

lol equally as insane to me that high profile games start at 4pm on a weekday for us. Can’t please everyone.

Leagues always, ALWAYS cater to east coast viewers at the cost of home fans. Our home playoff games (for Sharks) were starting at 6pm ffs. Impossible to get to a game by 6 in the Bay Area.

Hope some of y’all stayed up for this one because it’s wild.
