gonna be an exciting week of soccer. lots of playoff jockeying happening.

excited for wednesday as I upgraded to legends and look forward to stuffing my face. hope the food is delicious!

Yikes. LAG goes down to the rapids.. who saw that coming? 2nd year of no Zlatan in the playoffs? I don't know about you guys, but I feel like the MLS playoffs need Zlatan for the drama... as I said before, an el trafico playoff meeting would be AMAZING.

It's never a surprise when the home team wins. Except Cincy, Vancouver and maybe Columbus. LAG has 3 easy home games left, a killer road game (RSL) and a Decision Day visit to Houston whose season started dying 2 months ago. Nine points from winning the home games might be enough, if they can manage it. If not they still have a fair shot at points in Space City.

Having now seen the highlights of the Rapids - Galaxy match, the ref may well have handed the win from one team to another - and I don't say that lightly.

He awarded the softest penalty I have ever seen to the Rapids, and later, he ignored a clear penalty that should have gone to the Galaxy. See for yourself and judge (1:37 and 3:30 for those of you with ADD).

Watched the end of the Houston-Minnesota game and then the LAG-Colo game. The overrule of the Minny goal was a crazy bad decision. By the time Pavon was given a red card and was walking off the field I was convinced the MLS Refs were being paid to throw games. When the red card was eventually rescinded and LAG wasn't given a penalty when their player was kicked in the head well after he headed the ball I came back to my senses and remembered the MLS refereeing is just awful, not that there is actual corruption behind it.

Really atrocious night of officiating even by MLS standards.

PRO is running out of acceptable referees to use for the playoffs. As Dome said, one mistake by anyone and you’re out, including the referees.

I think I would need to see another angle on the potential Galaxy penalty before taking a position there. But the PK award to Colorado is definitely one of the softest I've ever seen.

Sitting down to watch Philly and Atlanta with 3 points already in the bag

Hahahaha Columbus you spoiler you.

Lafc doing enough. And giving us a chance at the shield if they continue to tumble?

ATL are now 6 pts dropped or won by us to clinch above them.
Meaning, if we beat them, we end above them.

HOWEVER
If we beat Dallas on the way to them, And somehow they lose to either Cinci or SJ at home, then we will also end above them, thereby making the ATL game no longer as 'scary'.

Five points up with four to play. Three on the road, Atlanta at home. It's not over yet, but it's close. Two wins makes it almost mathematically impossible for Philly to catch us -- and Atlanta is done. They're 9 back, even with a game in hand they're not catching us.
