Just read a preview of CIN/ATL that reminded me that Atlanta tied with FCC back in March. That was before everyone knew that Cincinnatti was going to be epically bad so I think it did not get as much attention as it would have later in the season. Instead it was generally folded into Atlanta's poor start (5 points in the first 6 games just like us) and adjustment to de Boer.

Well, to be fair, ATL did play a lot differently back then. They've transitioned back to their high paced attacking style while leaving themselves very open to a counter attack, which is how CLB exploited them. De Boer can't be too happy about that and I'm curious if he'll reign things in or let them continue since it's been mostly successful. Not sure what their injury situation is like either cause LGP and Escobar being out has put a lot of pressure on Miles Robinson, who doesn't seem to be handling it very well. No barco too recently.

If FCC put together a somewhat decent performance, it might actually be a really good game. it kinda plays right into FCC's strategy of parking the bus and countering. If FCC's defense can keep Josef under control, they'll have a chance to take 3 points of ATL.

Cincinnati parked the bus to get their first win against MtL last week. I fully expect them to bring in an 18-wheeler to bunker against ATL...but I still expect ATL to get the 3 points.

Yeah they're both completely different teams. FCC is on their third coach, and FdB has made substantial adjustments along the way. So I don't think the first result is at all predictive, though I agree Cincy has a shot at a result. Not likely, but possible, in slightly more than the "anything can happen" sense.

I will be watching and rooting for FCC. Just want to see ATL lose and their fanbase turn on them. It's just good entertainment.

Losing to FCC would be so humiliating. Very doubtful as you said, but within the realm of possibility under their 3rd coach - who has a history with FdB.

538 gives Cincy a 25% chance to win and 22% chance to tie. Those seem a little high to me, but probably aren't far off.

looks like ATL's back line is back in full force. the only person they're missing is barco. their backline should be a lot more solid now. unless you could say GonzalezPirez and Escobar aren't match fit and will be rusty.

This shit gets weirder and weirder.
Montreal beating Toronto.
ATL still tied.

What?

to be fair - montreal v tfc is the canadian championship. tfc may be rotating. ..just checked.. they are. no jozy, no pozuelo.

hopefully FCC pulls off a miracle! they are doing well so far. pretty disciplined parking the bus.

if Atlanta tie, we just need a tie against them to finish above them!

Red Bulls showed signs of life. Let's hope they still have some at home against Philadelphia.

Also, remember when we thought Portland was going to do NYCFC all sorts of favors winning home games against the East late in the season? Well, since beating us POR is 1-3-1 against the East with the only win against Chicago and one left against the Revs.

and the Seattle’s draw means we’re 1 win away from finishing no worse than 2nd in the West. That means winning the East or 2nd to ATL gets us in CCL 2020. Also would mean 3rd in East would get us in if any of NYC, PHI, LAFC, or ATL win the cup.
