So, obviously we have to keep things in perspective in the sense that Toronto was just awful until very late in the game. But that said, how amazing does it feel to see something resembling last year's quality of play?

I'm probably wrong, but it felt like between the last match and tonight the team took Deila aside and said "look, we're built to play fluidly, so let us play like we used to", and Deila went with it. I still don't see any particular Deila stamp on things other than his decision that Medina is a midfielder now.

So, it may have been that, or it may have been the team catching a spark by having squeaked undeservedly into the knockouts and feeling like they had to rise to the occasion. Or maybe it was just having a night game instead of a morning game. But whatever it was, we looked like ourselves again.

James Sands is immense. Maxi is still a magician. Air Bear hit the bar twice. Twice! I thought GMS actually did a decent job fighting for the ball late in the game.

Also, to me this feels especially good because while NJRB is our league-manufactured rival Toronto is our real rival. Get stuffed, Canucks.

GET INNNNNNNN.

I agree 100% on the "Toronto is our real rival". You can see it in our players, you can see it in some of their players, and you can especially see it in the fans. It's always nice to win against Toronto!

they started tonight like Toronto pissed in their cornflakes this morning. First ten minutes NYCFC pressed hard, and Toronto didn’t respond.

“El fútbol da revanchas”

i kept saying this team has nothing to lose especially when they didn’t even deserve to be here. They gave everything from the start. Medina with his second goal lol. Mitir coming back to fight in defense mata also did his part. Sands was great

they never let Toronto get settled in (and they also just played badly too, they look like us in the group stage).

I guess Toronto won’t cry and complain about rules being “unfair” not letting them in CCL as a US representative till another year.

oh btw Mullins still keeps his streak scoring against his former teams lol

I feel or Isi I think he’s done for tournament but it’s ok he gave us the goal that got us here in the first place.

Most fun I've had watching a sporting event since Covid.

Presuming it's going to be Portland will be a much tougher test.

I guess Arguably Toronto is our "Real" on field rival right now but in response to a few comments like that... I dunno I think I've see too much pseudo Euro style Aggro and posturing when we play our local rivals to not consider that our main grudge game. Also my best friend is a scum bulls fan so bragging rights...doubt too many of us know any Toronto fans.

Acevedo looks good!
Didn’t see a lot of him but just looking at his ball control and decision making you can tell he’s got it. Something tells me we get him for this year and next then he’s gone. Only thing keeping him here is likely lack of national team caps and not being able to get a visa.

we looked like the team of old plus the extra energy we usually have vs the red bulls. we pressed well but we definitely gassed ourselves at points because we did not keep the ball well enough after we did win the ball back.

i liked what i saw. it felt good to see them playing with such high energy and passing. i hope it continues and we make a good run.

worst player for me today was ring. he just wasn't as effective as he usually is. still love the guy though. Medina chasing the golden boot! make my prediction come true!!

hope isi is ok.

I think the thing that made me the happiest tonight was our mentality. How often in big games have we been too passive, too scared to make a mistake? Feels like in every playoff game, we forget how good we are and we're too scared to lose. Tonight we came out and kicked them in the mouth. We played with the swagger of a team that knows it's good. I love that. We need more of that. We're one of the best teams in the league -- LAFC comes out and jumps on its opponents. Atlanta (usually) comes out and jumps on teams' throats. We don't usually do that -- but we did tonight. That was awesome to see.

I just hope that Isi will be back soon. He was able to walk off the field which is a good sign.
