I don't even know what to think. We're better on paper, have owned them in the past, but they are a rising squad in the league. And with all this time of and a new manager who hasn't won a match for us yet (though we did finally score a goal!, I think. it's been a really long time). IDK, this is probably the last match I'd ever put $ on. I'm optimistic we can get 6 points vs Orlando and Chicago and with the revised format a result here won't be so important.

agreed.

i don't think we have scored in regular season goal and are the only team in the league to have not scored.

Philly's strengths has been their midfield engine and opportunistic strikers. if maxi, ring, and whoever else is with them can control the midfield, we SHOULD win. Anything can happen though after this long time off, the hot florida weather, and new coach. Philly is basically bringing everyone back including coach so they will basically not skip a beat in terms of tactics. That's the part that worries me the most. Of the games we've seen under Deila, our tactics and his substitutions have been unencouraging. While I would love for Medina to suddenly become a breakout star worth his DP status, he hasn't shown that he will do that with the chances Deila has given him. All the while, Isi sits on the bench. Baffles me.

It's going to be a tossup for sure.

Isi struggled with fitness and came in overweight beginning of last season. Seemed like this was the case this year too. I am not optimistic that we are going to see in form Isi for the tourney.

Ronny has made comments that he doesn't believe Medina is a winger. I think we are going to see Gary and Mitri as our wingers.

It would be interesting. What if Ronny actually sees something in Medina that no one else did? Maybe he sees him more as a midfielder or even something else? And what if that position works out well for him? I gosh darn want Medina to succeed, but so far it just hasn't gone well.

I think there's more of a chance to see Taty up top with Heber and Mitri.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet. We are now going to Florida on July 2nd. Not sure what our original travel date was. I'm assuming our friendly with FCD is not impacted.

Yeah, I hope so too. Just based on comments and how he made his lineups before the shutdown, I don't know how much Ronny values Taty. Hopefully now that he actually has watched all of our games, he sees how much of a stud Taty is.

is there an injury report filed?
Good question. There's nothing on the NYCFC website, nor is it up on the MLS game preview. Maybe later today. The one for the ORL/MIA game today is up on MLS. Historically, though, I think those are less up to date and comprehensive than the ones NYCFC provides.

Deila did say during a recent conference call that the team is completely healthy. Now that was last week and he could be talking in generalities such that some knocks that may prevent guys from playing arent included in that statement, so take it FWIW.

If that's the case, then hats off to the NYCFC medical staff. Match sharpness is something different entirely, but in terms of keeping the players uninjured and virus-free, that's a real achievement after such a long break.

i wonder if maxi is actually "completely healthy". last training video, his entire calf was taped up with KT tape meant to relieve pain and add support. ring has this tape on his knee almost every game and he generally seems fine though. so *shrug*
