Montreal (Home) - Postmatch

I see no objective proof that the team actually holds practices. Maybe they just do sessions for the gram.

It occurred to me at some point early in the 2nd half that given the level of talent on the team, they should and would likely get better results if there were no coach at all.
Who would be the player that tells Medina to sit in the corner?

In case anybody has forgotten, or is willfully ignoring, Montreal, with only ten men, should have won the match in the last minute’ish of the match when the cross fell to the unmarked attacker on the far post who couldn’t believe his luck and blasted the ball over the bar. That was the game winner that they screwed up, not us playing lock-down D.
It wasn’t just that. They carried danger every time they got into our half. We never threatened. At all. The whole damn game.

Kreis would have this group near the top of the table at this point.
The Kreis was better happened in chat during the match. And yeah, he was way better than Dome.

Ayooo game was trash

My sources say players are confused as hell with dome and they done with him most likely

15 seconds before Heber came on Dome was standing next to him on the sideline with a notepad pointing and drawing things like he was basketball coach in a timeout. What on earth is he telling him that is so complex it needs to be drawn out and if it's that complicated why is he waiting till the moment the player comes on to try to explain it?

Well that’s because we can’t single out Sweat for that. ;-)

That said, the D allowed only two decent chances all day.

Dome: and here’s how the streets work below 14th street. And here’s where the best jazz is.

Ha, in my head I imagined a coaches meeting with Dome complaining the players aren't understanding his ideas and the rest of the coaching staff unwilling to tell him he makes no sense instead suggested trying a pad and pen to convey ideas.

I couldn’t be the only one actively rooting for Montreal to score at the end, right?

I mean, it’s literally the only thing the match was missing. CFG/NYCFC FO were embarrassed in every possible way, other than losing. I am so sick of the way the team is run, I want it to become a situation that is utterly toxic and the stadium is empty. And it’s only because it’s the only way things will improve.

I was on record before the season started that I had no issue with losing matches if it forced Dome out. I still feel that way, and will take it farther that even if CFG doesn’t fire him, I hope we lose - there’s a threshold of futility the league won’t stand for from the ownership in the biggest media area in the country considering MLS needs a massive sell for the next TV contract. If he hasn’t already, Don is going to start making calls to CFG.

Keaton looked good. Ring looked better in close to his natural position. Sands proficient again but I'm ready to see him at CB to make room in midfield for some guys with a bit more verticality.

Sadly, Mitritsa was wasted at CAM, as expected. He's like Hazard in the final third, going at goal, but turn him 90-270 degrees and he's just a par level MLS player. I would say that good coaching can remedy that, but based on current evidence, the point is irrelevant.

To Midas Mulligan Midas Mulligan point, it doesn't seem like we are drilling the final third at all. Positionally, we have our players in Pepball-like spaces but the it's static. When you see City play, the guy receiving the pass is already shaping to run into space before the guy who is making the pass has even received the ball. Instead when our guys receive the ball in the final third, everyone is waiting to see what he can do.

At this point, I feel like the fair and honorable thing to do would be to give Dome 4-5 games with a true striker. But I'm skeptical he'll be able to do anything with it.

I'm sure glad I sat this shit-show out today. I'm sure pissed I wasted 112 minutes of my night tonight watching it.

Oddly, I think the personnel we have currently would be perfect for Kreis.

Mitrita playing off of Heber. Maxi operating freely underneath. Parks wide right. Ofori wide left. Ring lrotecting the back line. Sweat playing a defensive LB role. Mitrita would have the whole Left side of the final third to himself. Tinnerholm given freedom to overlap Parks on the right.

My two cents.

We do have a great diamond setup. No doubt.

Heber is a bright spot even though he didn’t do anything.

For the first time all season, we had s guy play with his back to goal. That’s a big deal.

The Taty/Medina/Lewis experiment needs to be over. We need to move on from all three this summer. I still think Isi is a player but it seems this system, whatever it is, doesn’t fit him. At one point today, was he playing Central Midfield. What the hell?

I think we should all make more of an effort to only watch unmeasurable streams, simply because I want to damage #cfg money as much as possible.

It’s practically our duty as the natives who care about this particular club. Get these clowns out.
