Movies

watch it on a big screen.
Thanks for that- well worth watching, and I agree do yourself justice, never mind those involved, watch on a big screen- magnificent. Icelands probably the only place I've been to that's felt truely alien- I think partly the black and white landscape- ice and volcanic matter, and partly the very long/short days and what that does to the light. Also such a good sweater :)

Nobody crosses Iceland, you travel around its edges.

Except my friend Justin crossed Iceland across a trail that's centuries old and almost never traveled because of the desolation and difficulty of the terrain, which includes desert, volcanos, glaciers, and rivers that pop-up, flow, change course, and then randomly disappear. He did it on a mountain bike, filmed it, and made a movie. It's 43 minutes long and you can watch it at the link. This is just, truly, awe-inspiring and beautiful.

The movie is at the link. It's really, really worth it. If possible use Airplay or Chromecast or something to watch it on a big screen. Take 45 minutes this weekend.

Real men cross the middle of Iceland in February.

But otherwise, props for a beautiful film.

I love the moment when they're consulting with, I forget, maybe Iceland Search and Rescue, maybe some other expert, and that guy says something about the possibility of a winter storm hitting them near the glacier and Justin says "In August?" and the guy just shrugs and says, well, yeah.

Name the soccer team that’s on the TV in Teddy KGB’s poker den when Mike McDermott wins the first of two sets on the night....

Saw Yesterday today. It was interesting. Good to hear The Beatles music. But they could have done more with the plot. Felt a bit simple. B-

saw Joker this weekend - it was disturbing and quite unsettling, but so well done - no idea why it's been getting a lot of shit in the press, though

It glorifies violence. I did not enjoy it.

Inglorious Bastards also glorifies violence. But I did enjoy that thoroughly.

Haven’t seen it, but I’m assuming it falls under the analogy that the Scientists were too busy proving what is possible rather than stopping to think if it’s both ethical and responsible.

I didn't see it that way at all, but can understand how some might - some tool next to me literally cheered at some points, but it's not like the movie made him that way

I also think the movie is an allegory for the failed government mental care in the city especially with Mrs. de Blasio losing 400M in ThriveNYC and her other dubious campaigns.

The thing I love about John Wick is he lives in Jersey, his car shop is in Queens, and he gets from Jersey to downtown Manhattan on the Brooklyn Bridge. Also, he takes an MTA city bus from his house in Jersey to the car shop.

He obviously has the KeyMaker’s set of keys and knows which door goes where.

Saw Doctor Sleep yesterday I enjoyed it pretty creepy. Ewan McGregor and Rebeccar Ferguson are both good in it.

Thought Rise of Skywalker sucked.

I'm no Rian Johnson apologist I think Last Jedi might have sucked even more ,BUT Knives out is excellent and definitely more worth a watch.

A Rian Johnson SW trilogy probably would have been better than the trilogy we got.
Rian Johnson made the trilogy we got worse by pissing on every marker laid down in the first movie.
