Movies

So 3.5 weeks later I finally finished the Snyder cut lat night. My initial impression stands. The climactic battle was, IMO, the best superhero film battle scene I've seen. Though it can't match Endgame's richness in resolving almost every open strand of nearly 2 dozen prior films, it benefitted from a smaller cast that kept it focused, instead of Endgame's endless stream of characters, which felt like a Main Street Disney World parade that goes on for too long ("do they have to use every character in their IP?").

Worst part was the extended coda, which undermined the emotions of the climax, and seems unnecessary as they don't plan to continue the Snyderverse.

I saw Tenet in a theatre last September. Watched it again over the last couple of days and I think I'm at 70-8-% comprehension level of what happened. It helped to watch this time with subtitles on so I could understand all the dialogue that is buried in the sound mix.

Because I have cool friends this is the second time for me posting an original film about Iceland by someone I know. This features a volcano and is real short: just 3 minutes 30 seconds. And there's no "wait for it" moment. If you're not in awe within the first 10 seconds, you might as well click away.

THANK YOU. This is absolutely amazing!

Free Guy.
Genuinely one of the best movies I've seen in YEARS. Ryan Reynolds is amazing. Both as an actor AND as a producer. Highly recommend!
Basic synopsis is he's an NPC in a video game and he becomes self-aware, plot progresses from there. Highly recommend, great in theaters too. The sheer joy and laughter of all the fellow theater goers just makes the movie all that much better, when normally I think it's annoying.

Saw No Time to Die in IMAX at Lincoln Square. First time at a theater since February 2020. Oh my, what a great movie. Definitely see it!
