National Hockey League

Well said ... how bummed were you about Callahan leaving?
To be honest, I think it was the right move. We couldn't tie up so much cap space in a guy who never scored 30 goals. Don't get me wrong, I loved the guy, but he was being unreasonable with his demands, he picked money over the team. We got a quality player back that makes us better now, so I can't complain.

That's fair. Probably a true statement. He was just always one of my favorite players. Played with so much heart and left it all on the ice every shift. Not a 30 goal scorer indeed but ... great player. I just remember a few of those caps - rangers playoff games where it felt like cally was consistently going all out and most of the team was just going through the motions.

We shall see.

Couldn't have been happier with aquiring MSL. Sucked to see Callahan go but he over-played his hand.

The only issue is giving up so many picks. This team is screwed in the long run, especially if they do not buy out Richards. If they don't win it in the next 2 or 3 years, it is going to be a while.

Big Rangers fan, so if anybody else follows hockey we can commiserate about being Hockey/Soccer fans and none of our friends understanding why we find these sports far superior to their Football/Basketball/Baseball.

I'm also a huge Ranger fan (I split a season ticket) but I also happen to love baseball. The reason I feel people don't like hockey and/or soccer to me is lack of scoring and short attention spans. They're the only sports outside of baseball that have continuous action (based on your definition of action I suppose). But the lack of scoring and anticipation of that goal is what makes it so exciting. But I digress.

Hoping the Rangers make a nice push and I hope we get drawn with Columbus and Philly end up taking care of Pittsburgh. Boston is going to be tough for anyone to beat but how many times have we seen big teams fall in the playoffs. Going to be fun to watch.

Islanders fan *sigh*
It is a shame because the last couple years there seemed to be a decent future for the club with some young good players, but it has all fallen apart. My Dad is a big Isles fan, but he saw the 4 Cups in the '80s so he had his glory days and is somewhat ok with them being so horrible.

I have not followed much out of conference, and truth be told barely out of division with the new alignment and playoff structure.

But as far as I can tell, you guys got a great deal with Seguin. Real talent there.

I wake up every morning and thank God for my health, my beautiful family, and for the Boston Bruins being stupid enough to give us Tyler Seguin.

Ok, not really, but Seguin is a steal. He's been tremendous for us. Not only has he played well on the ice, he's taken the effort to be a leader and to be a contributor off the ice. He gives his box to people in wheelchairs. I don't know what happened in Boston, and obviously they're still doing fine without him but going forward on a young team he's an excellent piece of the puzzle.

As far as the structure, I appreciate the Stars getting less West Coast swings than they did in the Pacific. The structure is a little strange to me but I think I'll get used to it. I'm looking forward to how it plays out in the playoffs, hopefully with the Stars in the mix.

Caps fan. I'm just worried about Ovi leaving because he might never win a championship with them. If he leaves we are so fucked. Like bottom of the league Buffalo Sabres fucked

Isles fan as well, here. I see hope for the future, but am not sure about the decision to keep Capuano. As a fan, I have the pain of Capuano and Moyes in my life.

Holy crap has anyone seen this Rangers playoff ticket prices? They are crazy, 180$ for a 400 level row 7 seat.

Who does everyone think will win? Here's my picks since you obviously needed to know:

East 1R: Bruins(5), Mon(6), Pens(5), NYR(7)
West 1R: Dal(6) (YOLO!), Chi (5), Min (7), Sharks(7).

I saw somewhere that ticket prices for this series are highest of the 8. And while average price in Philly is around 180, in MSG it is over 400. Really incredible. Best bet of getting a good deal is Game 2 with Easter there is less demand for tickets.
