Was able to see the last half hour of the match. Work has been killing me in regards to not catching NYCFC games. I think I’ll have to put in requests for the playoff games.
Not taking anything away from what I saw. With some of the players we had to field today seems that 2-0 is a fair result.

Annoyingly I've not been able to catch a number of games recently so have missed several of our better performances recently, so it was typical that when I tuned in this time, it was to a frustrating game that saw us hog the ball but get no joy out of it.

We're clearly turning into a very good ball-playing team but there's just those few extra tweaks still needed. The defence still gets caught out way too easily and we still can struggle a bit to fashion clear chances from possession. Still, I'm hoping for a better performance next week (or even for the Crew to do us a favour - sadly that'll be a score I have to check tomorrow morning as it's gone midnight already).

it was a game where we controlled the ball but failed to finish our chances. fell asleep twice on defense and got punished.

poor play from callens, miller, and medina today really sealed the defeat for us. Turner showed up for the Revs and saved their day for sure.

Shout out to Ibeagha who took control of the backline today cause Callens was in la-la land. Rocha did well in midfield as well and earned a solid position as backup midfielder in my book.

Really hope GMS comes into his own soon because he's not living up to his billing at the moment. Took Taty a full pre-season to get in form, so maybe that's what he needs.

Thanks to the Crew. CCL here we come.

Now, how do we approach PHL next week? We do play our best XI to prove a point? Or let some other guys get some time?

Thought we played a decent game all things considered. Had trouble finishing again today, but I think Heber and Mitri still played well. Turner was great in goal and the Revs second goal was just a great goal. Thought Ibeagha was great today.

Oh well. Most important loss in club history. Top of the East!!

I think you empty out the bench. No reason to show them anything resembling what they might see if later in the playoffs. There’s going to be a very long time off whether or not people play next week, so I say give anyone who might need a spell a spell.

sure. but with a first round bye and no tplaying next week.. that's almost a full month off. that's a long time to build up some rust. it's a tough call but i wouldn't mind seeing some kids play.

Impossible to play our game on that pitch. It just really hurts our style because it's so hard to control the ball with it bouncing all over the place. It's like playing on blacktop. I'd take slippery sod over that any day of the week. That said, we really controlled the game and should have scored at least once or twice. No injuries. Heber 90' fit and we clinch regardless.

Remember when Pirlo was hurt for @Toronto in Year 2? We replaced him with Mikey Lopez and we looked horrible. Missing an equally integral part in Ring, Rocha has played very well and looked comfortable. Ibeagha filling in on the wing and at CB and not missing a beat. Miller filling in for Tinnerholm and looking like absolute dogshit What I'm trying to say is that we're really well placed for some of the weird shit MLS throws at us in terms of injuries, drastically different play styles/playing surfaces. Feels like we've seen it all and have the players to plug in to be successful through adversity as opposed to previous years.

Frustrating. Only saw the second half. We were missing a lot of people but still. As a Buffalo Bills American football team that makes two losses to New England for me today

Thank you Cowlumbus.

So are we actually Eastern Conference champions, as i've seen in a few places?

So what do you call the team who gets to MLS Cup from the east?

we are currently regular season eastern conference champions. playoff eastern conf champions are diff. think of it as the supporter's shield for the conf that has no trophy except a first round bye?

Got my phone stolen during a rec league soccer game. Thank god we clinched. Makes today slightly better...

that blows. i always worry about that. kind of people who steal from fellow footballers should burn in hell.

Hard to take much out of this game with 6 starters out due to either injury or suspension. Plus playing on plastic. The main thing I take out of it is that half the guys on the field shouldn't start for this team in the playoffs, and if they are starting something very bad has happened. Medina, GMS, and Miller were just awful. Don't think we'll be seeing much of either of those guys once the playoffs start.

The most important thing that happened on the field today is that no one got hurt. Philly is absolutely falling apart down the stretch, that's just an awful loss for them to clinch us the regular season conference title.

Great accomplishment. Never would have thought it was possible back in April. A 12-game unbeaten streak and a 9-game unbeaten streak. Great, great season, and hopefully it's just getting started.

not international duty.. yellow card suspension.

kinda sad the entire team didn't travel so they could celebrate ALL together. missing some guys in the celebratory photo is kinda sad.

I agree. Regardless of what happens in the playoffs... there's a lot to look forward to next year. most of the starters are here... hopefully maxi as well. and hopefully we can get parks on loan again and drop medina for a solid DP. scally as a true backup for anton... haak as a defensive backup to ring... sands not breaking anything... lots to look forward to!

There will be extra GAM next year with the tournament entry. I believe it’s been about $100k, but can’t quote the source, and for all we know it’ll go up if MLS cares about being competitive.

So what do you call the team who gets to MLS Cup from the east?
I’m assuming you meant that if this is the first objective, what is getting to MLS Cup?

If that is what you meant, I’m assuming that this is the first objective as it’s on the road to getting to MLS Cup. No, winning the east does not guarantee an MLS Cup appearance, but it’s a huge first step in that direction.

I could see clinching the east really as a second objective, with clinching a playoff spot being the first, though.
