New England (Home) - Postmatch

I missed the game because I was at a BBQ meeting a girl's friends for the first time. With the way things played out, I would have looked nuts hunched over in a corner with my phone going through a wide range of emotions.
Of all people Medina is the one who saves this game. His celebrations were definitely a "I'm aware of the discussion about me" celebration. The intern probably printed out a best of (worst of) comments on here for him lol.
I may be foolish but outside of LAFC and ATL I don't fear anyone in the playoffs. Maybe TFC because they just seem to have our number.

From the Supporters Section, I saw Maxi grab the ball and start walking away from the box. It got me all excited that he was going to hand it to someone else. I hoped it would be Isi, or maybe Mitri. But then it was Medina, and then I got all worried again.

But a very well taken penalty by Medina, so kudos to him. And he did also take a very good one against Orlando in the USOC, so perhaps that factored in a bit.

I don't understand why some think the DOGSO was a soft red. Do we agree it was a foul? I think so. Do we agree that there was nobody else between Taty and the keeper? I think so. Am I missing something else that is required?

if medina is out to prove a point, then i'm all for it. i'll take any reason any player on the squad has to show their best effort and potential. bring it on. there's no better time than this final stretch and playoffs to show that kind of grit and determination.

Two other thoughts:
  • That Taty shot in the first half on the full volley was pure gold. Matt Turner had one hell of a save on that to deny the golazo.
  • GMS has been disappointing. I wrote quite a bit about his off-ball movement being brilliant, and I still think that. He had several great runs yesterday to spark what should have resulted in great chances and he flubbed them either with a bad pass, bad decision, or being forced off the ball. I'm still hopeful for him as his movement is great and he can really strike the ball well, but I'm a bit less optimistic than I was after his first start.

Also, talking about the ref....how about that one play where Maxi was called for a foul when he was pushed from behind. That was cool.

just a note... Tyler Miller is LAFC keeper. Matt Turner is the Revs keeper.

agree with your points though. taty is probably the only brave one to take those 1 time shots yesterday. no one else had the balls to give it a try and ended up giving up their opportunity trying to set up a perfect shot.

Oops. Edited my post above now to reflect the correct keepers.

Ok, double checked my chart. It's 100% accurate when it comes to Maxi. You're correct the the only way he's suspended is if they don't count his appearance subbing in against Houston. Otherwise, he should be clear to play vs Toronto.

Well - I got it on social media and spoke with Brad Sims about it (wanted to tell Claudio directly, but missed that opportunity). Let's see if NYCFC does anything about it. Or MLS.

“I’m very happy, especially for Jesus,” Torrent said. “In the training session he convinced me. I don’t choose the players because this is a blond player or this is a funny player – it’s about the performance in the facility.”

I've had questions that are finally being answered.

IT took Mitri awhile but he's looking pretty good now. Hopefully GMS will follow suit.

Stupid thing to care about but I hate it when teams wear change strips at home. Feels like a desperate marketing plea.

I think Gaz will break out when the weather gets colder, just like a proper Scot.
