Nintendo Switch

Games i have:

Mario Odyssey (recommend)

Mario Kart (recommend)

Mario Tennis Aces (recommend, but story mode isn't very long and can get quite difficult at the end)

Zelda Breath of the Wild (recommend)

Donky Kong Tropical Freeze (do not recommend)

I have preordered Smash Brothers and cant wait for it to come out. but like some of these other Mario multiplayer games they will definitely be a lot more fun if you have other friends who also have a switch to play with. Playing against the computer gets old kinda fast for me.

Forum members who i know who have a switch: Me, Mario Mario , Korker Korker , Seth Seth , joe joe , LostAnvil LostAnvil

Switch is 10/10 worth it, especially with the deals/bundles they have going on now for it. They are also getting a lot of 3rd party game support which they didn't have for the Wii/WiiU, so most major titles will come to it.

Have all the games Jack listed and agree with his list. I also have the new Pokemon game, and it's outstanding. (Haven't played a Pokemon game since Gold and Silver came out so this has been a huge upgrade)

I have mario kart, aces, and party; zelda and fortnite on my switch... planning to get pokemon lets go and smash soon.

Kart is fun all the time even with the computer and especially with friends online/locally.
Party can get boring in 1 player obviously but with friends is great (have not tried online yet)
zelda is one of the best games out on switch if not the best probably although no multiplayer

I’m probably not your usual gamer person I guess. Not really into shooting things, ya know? Really like Zelda, for example, but wish the game would leave me alone and let me just explore the world.

Got the Pokémon game a week or so ago and am enjoying it immensly. Played it with my daughter maybe 15 years ago on the DS. She’s now 24 so playing Pokémon is incredibly nostalgic for me (and fun!). Yes, yes, I know, I have kids older than a lot of you. And she’s the younger of my two.

Just got a new game yesterday called Abzû. I’ve played it for maybe an hour and a half this morning and still can’t really describe it. Basically you’re swimming underwater and, well, doing things now and then. Sort of. It’s sort of a puzzle game. I think. But it’s maybe more of an explore-the-world game. Kind of. Totally enjoying it though. Maybe not for you if you enjoy blowing things up but it’s a unique and interesting game. Worth at least checking out the trailer.

Lastly, looking forward to a game called Conduct Together, coming out in about a week. It’s sort of a Sims train game where you build track layouts and run trains, but the goal is to avoid crashing them for as long as you can. And you can have multiple people driving the individual trains I think (hence the “Together” part of the name). So yes, this is a game where you end up blowing things up but that’s pretty much the opposite of the goal, although it *is* half the fun.

One more game coming up, a Switch version of the board game Carcassonne, out in a couple of weeks I think. Also, links:

Got the Switch a few months ago and it's flippin sweet!

I highly recommend paying the $20/year for the online: https://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/pricing/

It gives you access to 20 NES games and they keep adding 3 a month, I believe. You can play Techmo Bowl, Hockey (with the fat, skinny, medium dudes), etc.

Edit: here's more info on the NES Online, like what games they have: https://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/nes/
Just sprung for the full year as my free trial was wrapping up. Nice selection of games, and a way better user experience than my Raspbery Pi emulator. A steal at $20/year.

totally! It's been my gateway to friends and family when they're over - I'll be like, "you ever play Ice Hockey from the 80s"? I'm pretty much a video game pusher

Daughter turned 7 in March. Decided to get it got “myself” as an early bday present bc target was offering $25 back this week. We played Mario cart for 2 hours together. I downloaded the NES games (with 1 yr subscription) and FIFA when she went to bed. Plan to use the $25 on Zelda today. Anyone else have fifa to play against?
