Portland Thorns put 4 past the Houston Dash inside 23 minutes yesterday, and wound up winning 5-0.

Horan 7' - assist Heath
Raso 12' - assist Heath, 23' - assist Purce
Sinclair 18' (PEN)

The fifth was an own-goal from the Dash's Jane Campbell.

if a stadium is actually built in the Bronx, are you attracting NWSL fans?

Do NWSL fans not ride the subway?
I’d be interested in the demographics of the NWSL attendees. My assumption is that it’s mostly girls and their parents.

You don’t see a lot of girls at NYCFC games.

I think Yankee Stadium and Willets are kind of the outer limits for "city" support for both MLS and NWSL. If they stay within those boundaries they should be fine.

idk where you're sitting, but where I'm sitting like half the kids are girls...
I’m midfield. About 90% men/boys. 10% women. I rarely if ever see a girl where I sit. Tonight I am bringing my daughter for the first time (well be gone by halftime). Will probably be the only girl in our section.

I think you would draw better from families at Willets Point. It opens up more of suburbia I think.

I live in Westchester and work in Fairfield. Willets Point appeals to me more than the Bronx. And it’s an easier drive from Long Island. Just my opinion.
I'm having trouble figuring out why we think the ideal stadium location for NYCFC mens would be different from NYCFC ladies. Or how this discussion is different to an ideal stadium location discussion.

The implication is that the suburban family with female children is a more important demo for women's soccer than men's? I just don't see the basis for this assumption. Not saying that it's not there. I'm also biased as somebody who lives in the urban areas who traveled for a women's football tournament tho lol

Agreed, as I live in Westchester as well. All the traffic around Yankee Stadium due to the GWB or Triborough bridges makes getting to Yankee Stadium a hassle, even on weekends. Paying a bridge toll is annoying, but being able to hop over the Whitestone to Willets Point isn't that bad.
