Pick the score, the goalscorers and their order, and the POTM (Pigeon of the Match). The contestant picking the correct result (win, lose, draw) and coming closest to the actual score wins a Mug of Ale from me should we ever meet and his/her name permanently enshrined in the Hall of Victory!

Good Luck!

Tiebreakers, in order:
(1) correct result (win, lose, draw)*
(2) closest to the actual score
(3) correctly naming the most goalscorers
(4) correct goalscoring order (by team)
* - a player cannot win by picking a win if the result is a loss (and vice versa)

OK I'm filing an appeal.

Last week we won 5-0. I predicted 2-0, which had one score right (and nobody had 3-0 or higher with the correct winner) but was further from the total GD than the winner who predicted 4-1 coming closest to the GD but got neither score right.

This week I nailed the GD and winner (and nobody else did), but lose to an entry that gets one of the scores right.

Appeal rejected.

Here is how it works. For each player, determine the difference between the predicted score and the actual score for each team. Then add those two numbers together to determine the total difference between the predicted score and the actual score.

So, last week, you picked 2-0 and zyanksrule picked 4-1. The actual score was 5-0. You were off by 3 total goals [(5-2) + (0-0)], and zyanksrule was off by 2 total goals [(5-4) + (1-0)].

This week, you picked 3-1 and I picked 2-1. The actual score was 2-0. You were off by 2 total goals [(3-2) + (1-0)], and I was off by 1 total goal [(2-2) + (1-0)].

Huh. I never would have expected total goals to be more important than either differential or getting at least part of the scoreline right, but it's your contest. Ruling accepted.
