NYCFC 2017 Playoff Schedule and Ticket Info

Ok, so I've been trying to figure this out

Right now this is what the schedule looks like if we finish top two:

Final MLS game day:
10/22

Knockout Round:

10/25

Semi-final:
Leg 1: 10/30 or 10/31
Leg 2: 11/1

LOL there is going to be a team that we play that is going to be completely exhausted no matter how far up they move the first leg.

I am with you except for the first leg of the semi-final. I know the league said the Sunday, 10/29 game would be a western conference semi-final, but I think it is very possible they will switch that with one of the east games if we end up in 2nd place.

it has to change....according to reddit there is a CBA rule that a same player cannot play within 36 hours....so they have to move it to fulfill this CBA rule

Sort of, according to this article: Rutgers is paying a ton for Maryland matchup at Yankee Stadium

That says a verbal agreement was reached "long ago," but the deal was not signed until last November. Rutgers is paying $750K to the Yankees for the one game (and keeping all ticket/Rutgers gear revenue). Yankees get concessions and Yankee gear sales.
Other fun notes, include that it is a wrestling/football doubleheader. I have no idea what the plan for wrestling is if it rains or snows. Also, the Rutgers fans hate this, probably just as much as we do. Rutgers has to sell 35k tickets to break even with a standard home game. They have about 28k season tickets and their STHs seem to be on the hook for the YS game.

More relevant to us, the deal with the Yankees gives them the right to cancel the football game if there is a World Series conflict. Game 7 of the World Series is scheduled for November 1. I'm not kidding. The good news on that front is that most National League playoff teams have a better record than the Yankees, which would put Game 7 in the NL city. But it's possible.....

This schedule confirms the Nov 1 date for game 7. Worse, games 3-5 which the Yankees would be more likely to host if they get to the WS, are Oct 27 28 and 29, which knocks out both our home games if we get the 3 seed.

Not that the schedules overlap enough to make this work (so just a pipe dream), but if we were evicted because of the baseball playoffs, it would be extra special to play the MLS Cup Final at Red Bull Arena and win it thus permanently marking the place as NYCFC's championship field and the arena's first championship. RB would be second class in their own home.

Should we host the 2nd leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. It would be 20 days until the Conference Finals Leg 1 due to the international break. You can't have a huge gap like that during the playoffs. MLS needs to fix their schedule.

It's in talks for this winter.
