NYCFC Announce Citi Field Series (2020)

I want to congratulate the comms team for leading with strength here.

New York City FC today announced that the Club has moved four regular season games to Citi Field for the upcoming 2020 MLS season. The decision eliminates four midweek games, in favor of weekend matches, and minimizes congestion throughout the season. Not only does this move provide a more competitive schedule for players, it also provides a more convenient one for fans to attend games within the five boroughs.

Ugh, saturday games. Wish they were sunday games :p

...However, I like this move. More rest for players, and they're only doing 4 / 17 games. This is good because that means only a minimal number of games have been moved, so they don't have to make it such a huge deal unlike a half/half split... Which means in future years, since they've eased into it this season, they'll be able to actually think of a proper plan to get the 'sth seats for both venues' thing going.

From their email it sounds like season ticket holders will be “communicated” their seats and not have a say. They better give me better seats than that crap I got for the playoff game, hideous.

they really should let us season ticket holders choose our seats in accordance with our season ticket priority. Refund us the four YS games and let us do a seat selection process.

no fucking way the FO is that transparent.

After going through seat relocation less than a week ago I find this insulting.
I understand that supporters in Queens may like this but I am 100% opposed to Citifield games. The nomadic soccer club thing is tiresome and the organization not being up front is even worse.
As my high school soccer coach said, “This is bush league. Mickey Mouse.”
Big thumbs down.

The FO should absolutely allow members to opt out of those games if they want, and allow manual seat selection if they don’t like the seats they’re assigned. Also if they’re charging more for row 1 seats, they better put everyone who’s in a YS row 1 seat in a Citi field row 1 seat.
