NYCFC Announce Citi Field Series (2020)

Not only was it lacking cohesion having the sections on top of each other (I was also on the bottom, and it was impossible to coordinate with the Templados/drums above, so it seemed completely dead to me), the sight lines were terrible. One of the reasons I enjoy the supporters section is that, although it's more difficult to see the opposite end of the pitch, you get one side very close up and have a decent tactical view of the field. That was not true at Citi at all.

I wasn't able to make it to the 2017 game against Columbus, but they didn't seat anyone on the upper level. Couldn't find a good photo in game, but if you look at the club's photos during the 'shirt off our backs' event after, you'll see the lower section is still full but no one on top.

Not to mention that they are assigning general admission to an area with seats.

They wouldn't let me in in 2017 because it was too crowded and clearly we weren't allowed in any other section. Then add to that splitting people up so that one section could neither be heard nor see the goal, trying to get the SS in to Citi Field has never been anything but chaos.

still fun tho

I love how everything has to be "branded" too

"The Citi Field Series"..... guess it does make for a punchier lede than "Eyo chaps, we had to arrange a bit of scheduling inconvenience for some of you..."

Still waiting for the MCU park series for thr ccl games

This was the problem I had for the playoff game this year (I didn't attend the match in 2017). I had GA for one of the Supporters Sections on the lower level. But due to work running a bit longer, didn't get to the section until just after kickoff. I'm assuming more people were let in that belonged in the section and it was incredibly packed. To make matters worse, the seats being there obstruct your view while trying to find open pockets. So in order to find available spots, you would almost have to go up and down every row to find where there may be some availability (that also may be due to someone having run to grab a beer, etc.).

I then said fuck it, I'm too amped for this game, and went up to the upper deck. There they had the same issue, except the back couple of rows had availability. Though, the problem there was, you couldn't see the whole near-side penalty box at all.

Sorry but this post will digress off topic.

To quote a friend, “No hardware, no stadium, no coach...”
With the state of the team as it is, this kind of corporate screw job just just adds to the displeasure of the season ticket holder (that doesn’t live in Queens I guess).
Positives:
More weekend games?
The team is mostly the same as last year?

Concerns:
We have lost some depth in the back ( if you count Ben Sweat) and middle while other teams have already made moves to get better, e.g. the Revs. I’m feeling nervous about the team being deep enough and prepared for the season especially with the CCL. February is gonna come fast.
Dome didn’t want to stay after winning the East?
I’m not happy about looking at the glass half full....
Can the organization give me something to feel good about for renewing my membership? 4 games at Citi Field is not what the doctor ordered.

Players signed later than December 18 the past two years: Medina, Tajouri, Berget, Ofori, Rocha, Parks, JPT, Mitrita, Heber.
Players signed before December 18 the last two years: Tinnerholm

going back further, Callens, Ring, Herrera, Moralez and Rodney Wallace all signed between 1/27 and 2/15 in 2017.

I know other teams have made moves, but I would expect our signings to be later this year given the CBA uncertainty. The lack of player acquisitions is easily the least concerning thing about this team right now.

Thanks for putting some silver in the lining of the large cloud. That’s good info.
