NYCFC FAN QUESTIONNAIRE

Hey! Just some constructive criticism - Second question, I still follow the results, I just don't support them. I think most people will say they "follow the results" if they are following the premier league. Maybe find a different way to ask the question?

FWIW I answered as if the questions specified that I follow or watch Man City because they are Man City and part of CFG. That filtered out general interest in Prem League games or results and I answered no.

Interesting point. Regardless, I'm sure if I didn't understand it that way, other people too will not. Should have probably answered that way, though.

We get a fair number of these types of surveys and they seem to universally have an odd premise or two. I mean, are there any actual CFG fans out there? That seems to be what they're asking about and that just doesn't seem to be a realistic question. I've been a Man City fan for 20 years or so just as a random thing. And I'm also an NYCFC fan, but only because I live here. I find it really hard to imagine that there's a single person out there who's a Man City fan *and* an NYCFC fan that does not live in New York. If you're a Man City fan who's from LA you're not going to also be an NYCFC fan, for example. I just find it hard to believe there's any CFG fans out there. Lots of fans of CFG-owned teams, but no fans of CFG itself. Sure, I go to 7-Eleven occasionally but that doesn't mean I'm a fan of Seven & I Holdings Co., or that I'd seek out a Lawson Station if I find myself in Japan, say. That's what I mean by it being a weird premise.

And there's always that one question that you know they didn't quite think through. "Have you been to a Man City match." Well yes, I have. But it was a pre-season friendly and it was played at Red Bull Arena (before NYCFC existed). So I answered "yes" to that one but I'm pretty sure they're going to interpret that as me saying I went to Manchester to a match.

And lastly, there's always questions where the choices are "I love it" or "I hate it." But it feels like there's never that middle choice where I'd say "I'm totally neutral about this as it just doesn't matter to me, or perhaps it simply doesn't apply." Just sayin'.

Anyways, I always do these surveys because when I was in high school my first ever job was doing phone surveys and it's almost impossible to get people to take part. So I always try to pitch in if I can.

Yeah, I'm sure there are a number of people who "root" for CFG teams, but probably wouldn't label themselves as CFG fans.

Like me, for instance. I am an NYCFC fan. I have no team in the Premier League. I usually just root for those that have Americans on them, but I also kinda root for Man City. I don't get super excited about wins or down about losses, and don't go out of my way to watch them. I would probably also *maybe* root for the other CFG teams. I'm sure I wouldn't watch their games really except maybe, maybe a final that they were in. But again, that would be more of a "Oh, cool. They won too." kinda thing than being a CFG fan.
