NYCFC in the Media Thread - 2017

The latest episode of Bobby Warshaw's "The Play" podcast is entirely dedicated to breaking down NYCFC's problems in the away leg vs. Columbus.

I'd provide a link, but it seems like most of the places it's linked to are broken. You can find it on iTunes, though.

i was going to say who is bobby warshaw but i googled him and i think he came in on the howler podcast after the US elimination and he fought tooth and nail that it was not the players fault they lost, that their "attitude" was not be questioned at all for this failure....lmfao ....fuck his opinions.

IDK where to post this, but Man City is doing a behind-the-scenes show on Amazon, which will be awesome. I bet we get to learn a little about our team, as well.

The Man City thread in other football?

I guarantee there will be zero about NYCFC in that. Maybe just a 20 second clip of something if they come here on tour or they get on the phone with Vieira or Reyna. Maybe it's a Herrera discussion?

We'll likely have more players going overseas in January to train in Manchester. Assuming filming has already started by then, they'd almost certainly throw a little of them in there. And if they're going to be sitting down and talking to some of the higher-ups, our overlords won't neglect to mention us. The partnership is unique, it's the perfect platform to name-drop all CFG teams.

Where would this team end up on the EPL table?
Somewhere around the S'hampton/Everton typical range, so comfortably mid-table.

Or else relegated catastrophically due to giving up tons of goals b/c you definitely can't park the bus away to the big 6 with that roster, and that's pretty much the MO of most of the league.

(resisting jokes about how manu PTB all the time)

Seems optimistic. You feel these players could command an average mid-table EPL salary? I'd say relegation battle, with a shot at 16thish.
That attack would be filthy, man.

It's a ridiculous premise to begin with because there's no bench and that formation is ... un-responsible.

I think you're under-estimating how dire many of those bottom (and middle) teams are in attack.

Villa needs a statue you built outside our new stadium, whenever it may be built.

3-5-2? Hmm, interesting formation to use for MLS.
Why's that? TFC are all over the 3-5-2.

I keep saying that I think it's a really good formation for MLS because of the disparity between DPs and the rest of the squad. It allows you to be organized defensively and then just get the ball to your money guys and let them destroy.

However, people are usually quiet when I say this which is a good sign that they think I'm full of shit but are too polite to tell me. Also there is a good chance that I'm just cargo culting off the fumes of TFC's success.
