NYCFC in the Media Thread - 2019

Gave it a listen - so was the contract Johnson signed with Atlanta transferred to NYCFC? meaning his salary went unchanged? If so, I blame Atlanta for screwing Johnson by not giving him a living wage sufficient for NYC if they knew they were going to trade him - unless NYCFC approached Atlanta after the fact - regardless, dude got screwed

shame i am not a subscriber :p

Other than that, it was mostly about how he's had to see former team mates like Andy Robertson go on to greater heights, but is just trying to stay positive, do the best with the hand he's been dealt (injuries etc.) and enjoy the ride.

Thanks for this.

Full fitness by end of august huh? Thing with GMS as a natural left winger is that's where Mitri likes to play, as I think SoupInNYC mentioned in his writeup. Out of the two, GMS visibly gives more effort pressuring the ball and making smart runs into space and behind the back line. If I'm Dome, I'm playing GMS on the left wing but I feel like Dome is still on the Mitri train. Let's hope his lack of performance is due to chemistry and playing on crappy turf vs grass. We have a string of home games til the end of the season so he has every opportunity to show his talents. I sincerely hope he does for the sake of the team!

Mitri saw some time out right in the game with GMS. I thought he looked pretty good. Was unable to do his usual thing. I think it would be good for him to grow his game out there. I'm also fine with dropping Mitri if Gaz has as much upside as I think he does.

Mitri is twice the player Gary is.

You all will sour in Gary. Just watch.

What if we never were sold on either to begin with?

And yet the club was into Mitri after GMS, and was so hell bent on him they went back the following transfer window, so what’s that say?

Like I said, I’m not sold on either, and extremely not fond of the idea the GMS has a rep of ghosting in games at times. Seems like Rev1.0 and Rev1.1 of the same player/tendencies, but GMS has a much more colorful bag of tricks & footwork to employ per his reel.
