Heh sounds like he was defending the result by saying we weren't full strength. Which also implies that he cared about the result. Which actually has me more concerned about the result (and his defensiveness) than I otherwise would have been about a preseason result.

He should care. Preseason or not, 2L & 1T is not convincing especially with the core roster back
2018, PV's NYCFC went 1W-3L-2D. The win was against the Jacksonville Dolphins. So normally I don't care too much about preseason results. But Dome's excuse about missing 2 players, one of whom we haven't even signed, does make me a little more concerned.
In and of itself, preseason results don’t matter much, but PV had a good track record in the regular season as a sign he knew what he was working towards. Dome is coming off a disaster/downward trend and because of that, and using the same players, it’s very concerning. Dome always seems to be about excuses.
Dome also seems to be playing a lot more first-choice players in every preseason game than Vieira ever did.
This is why we need Christina Aros... After 3 regular season games we need someone like him to ask the tough questions, like, why did Lewis start all the preseason games and sit on the bench to open the season.
Having not watched any of these matches, I’m most concerned that we aren’t scoring. Maybe someone can tell me how many big chances we are creating.
I don’t care about the results, but I would like to think we aren’t suffering from the same issues that plagued us during year 1 of Dome.
I thought I hated the fact that we occasionally didn’t finish chances under PV. I really hate not creating chances. It makes for horrible viewing.
It’s not just not scoring but also giving up goals - 5goals in three matches, with Johnson making many key saves vs Orlando that kept it from being worse. With the first team defenders getting a lot of minutes, this is concerning because either they’re not in sync, or the tactics are leaving space for counters and overloads.

And this on the heels of him training with ManU followed by saying he was gonna find a Euro team and not MLS based on that stint.... guess the EU teams didn’t think much of his fitness or weren’t willing to take a deep dive on a contract he’d accept.
he always been in contact with MLS right? i feel like every year there is some rumor or someone wanting to link him with MLS
