NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

It’s a possibility.

The ball is in Chicharito’s court.
Hmmmmmm....
I want to set proper expectations and I’ll choose my words purposefully. What i said is part little birdie, part connecting the dots and part conjecture. Maybe in equal parts.

First, there is a player that CFG has wanted for NYCFC for a couple of years. That player is being made available this summer. He fills a position of clear need. All of this is fact.

Medina has not progressed at the rate the club hoped. We have 3 DPs and he is the least valuable. All fact.

Now to the dots. Medina has been moved down the depth chart. The further down he goes or stays, the less valuable he is. And the more expendable he becomes. If he’s not valuable and there is a player available who would be a big success, those are your dots.

My conjecture? The less he starts and plays, the higher the chances he moves on. I don’t know if there is a market. My conjecture is that CFG would “assume” him rather than sell for a loss right now.
Seeing the LAFC presence at Yankee stadium makes me think signing a Mexican international as the next DP would be a smart move

Paging Chicharito
The Club agrees with you
You're the worst lol. Is this the summer signing replacing Medina?
5% chance.

As I said, greater than 0.

He would definitely help on the profit end. The team has to be hurting merchandise-wise after Lampard, Pirlo, Villa. I think any big name would help, though his nationality is bigger than his play imo.
Can't be worse than Medina. At least he'd sell jerseys.

Nycfc is not the only club that would like to sign him
I don’t know who has his stupid discovery rights
He’s rebuffed MLS at least three times that we know of.

Now, the new NT manager just won MLS Cup and doesn’t seem to have an issue with MLS players. That takes one issue off the board.

Orlando has his rights

I watched Boca Juniors versus some Brazilian team I had never heard of before in the Copa Lib tonight.

Why our scouting department decided to spend $4 Million on Jesus Medina is mind boggling. There were 22 players on the field better than him tonight.

If one of your DPs couldn’t make the 18 for a Copa Lib match, you’ve failed massively.

We should just have a scout attend all the Copa Lib matches and cherry pick.

You have to love Athletic de Bilbao. They are such a throwback. They are for patriotic nationalism what St. Pauli is for Antifa. A high percentage of their players are lifers, and those who don't get renewed but still have some football in them like the idea of coming to MLS because they avoid "ever having to play against Athletic", which would be a possibility if they remain anywhere in Europe.
