NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

It's worded kind of oddly. "one Eastern Conference club has already declined an approach from Bale's people."

So that doesn't read like a team was interested in Bale and ultimately decided he was too expensive (which, him being too expensive could still very well be the deciding factor). This reads more like there was a particular team that Bale was interested in going to (whether or not interest was reciprocated at all), so they reached out to the team to see if they wanted to move forward with a transfer.
He would break the bank -- 2 years left on his contract so he would cost some money and he's due $16mm a year in salary.

Is this our last season with him? I feel like we’ve been hamstrung with him forever now.
i could of sworn it was next year end of 2021, maybe im confusing him with someone else.
Didn't he sign a 5-year deal, or am I imagining that?

Four year deal. 2018-2019-2020-2021

"Jesus, an attacking midfielder who can play wide or as a no.10, has signed a four-year contract with NYCFC, following his transfer from Club Libertad in his native Paraguay." December 31, 2017

he is treating MLS as a retirement league. he said he wouldn't come to MLS til he's had a few more years on europe. Why would we invest in an aging player? I'd bring him on as a TAM player, but that's it. he's worth it now, but who knows in a few years and who knows if he can handle MLS. wouldn't waste DP money or the spot on him.

I wouldn’t want him at 34 but if he was to leave at the end of this year then yes, of course.

Think he could give us a few good years. My conclusion is they're looking to move Chanot or sell Sands this summer. OR they have more cap space than we realized.
