Didn't see a general thread where we'd discuss the postseason, so I figure I'd start one since we know where we are! NYCFC in the 2 seed, away game
Oct 30, home game Nov 6! Will face either D.C., Montreal, or Toronto.

Hope we get Toronto and beat the crap out of them!

So if Toronto wins on Wednesday night, we play them. If Philly beats Toronto, we play the winner of Thursday's game between DC and Montréal.

Who do we want? I think I'm slightly more afraid of DCU than Toronto. I might pull for Toronto because I don't see Montreal beating a hot DC team.

For visual people like me who love a bracket. Ironically I could not find one on the MLS site. Found this courtesy of CBS Sports.

So the RB youth won the USL Cup which is the team's first real hardware (if we continue the conventional wisdom that a league Cup > a league Record). That said, how will they spin it, or really deal with it, if their Senior team falls flat and NYCFC makes some history? Collective couch therapy sessions for their front office and fans? Or will the Supporters Shield all of a sudden carry more weight than normal?

In my post-CLB high I am predicting the Cup final will be us vs. Colorado. I think the Eastern Conference final will be us vs. NJRB, and truth and justice will prevail with the soccer gods giving us vindicatory victory over the cows.

We win the Cup, of course.
NYCFC is a different team now than at the RBWedding. And if Lurch is distributing the ball the press can be bypassed with midrange lobs dropping to our guys. Don't Chanot?!?

Does anyone know what the kickoff times were for the Semi-Finals last year? Can't overstate how difficult it is to get around/into NYC on Marathon Sunday. The city shuts down. If you are in Manhattan, you literally can't drive to/from the Bronx.

I believe there are games at 3, 5, 7, and 9:30. I would guess they go Eastern Conference games at 3 and 7 and Western Conference games at 5 and 9:30.

I'm sure there would be some flexibility with match start times, so I would think, knowing about the marathon that day, that the NYCFC match would be at 7.

Hysterical.

Imagine how difficult it is going to be explaining to people what aggregate and away goals mean come Sunday, November 6th?
Ah but if our home game ends in a tie on goals, then we will get overtime on our home field which we move have a 8-3-6 record. I'm liking the way we've been playing at home.

One other point..... hopefully our midweek opponent goes into overtime and we get a tired team for Sunday whereas RB gets a team that easily steamrolls their game and is fresh.

why the fuck are eastern conference final games on weekdays....west coast gets sunday games....cant we do the same? asssuming we get there.

also lol no red bulls stop calling me i dont want your playoff tickets.

What makes you say/believe this? Both the Eastern and Western conference finals are listed as the same either/or Sunday/mid-week dates. I am not saying you are wrong necessarily, just wondering how you "know" the West gets Sundays and East gets Tuesday/Wednesday?

Best case scenario would be Philly beating Toronto and Montreal beating DCU....so NYCFC would get Montreal. Highly unlikely, though. Although, Philly going up to Toronto and winning after going winless in 7 to close the season would be peak MLS.

It's either Toronto or DCU. Good thing is that the Toronto game is on Wednesday so NYCFC may know its opponent at the end of the game.

East games are on Nov 22nd and 29th. The league scheduled this because there is the CFL Grey Cup at BMO Field during Thanksgiving weekend and this couldn't be moved for an MLS playoff game. Awful scheduling for something that might not even happen. Seems like somebody in MLS HQ was pretty high on Toronto when setting up the schedule.
