NYCFC Academy - General Discussion

What if the academy players aren’t pros. They can’t play against professionals right? If they want to keep their college eligibility
They can play professionals, they can't play alongside professionals as team mates. The main source of players for USL League 2 are college players. In the PDL teams, some of the teams were pro but those teams were not allowed to have college players on their squads.

Liam Manning was the previous Academy Director, appointed last year, and I found no news of him leaving. Odd.

yes they did. I think since no one really knew about him, people didnt care.

what i find odd is that it took a full year to replace him.

Maybe there was not much going on in the Academy for the last year, so it was less urgent?
I think the DOC is a longer-term vision/direction of the Academy guy, more so than a coach on the field guy, so you can get through a season pretty easily without one, but you need one eventually.
 
Chanot is an interesting cat. I’m thrilled that he wants to stay involved with this club. Claudio loved him and worked really hard to convince him to stay. Happy he’s happy here. A great guy and everyone across the club at every level loves the guy
