New York City FC and World Class FC Announce New Strategic Partnership For Girls Academy

New York City FC and World Class FC are pleased to announce the formation of a new strategic partnership to create the NYCFC / World Class FC Girls Youth Academy commencing with the 2019/20 season.

NYCFC and World Class FC will combine resources to form one program and compete exclusively in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) across the U-12 to U-19 age groups. This new direction will expand the Academy’s number of teams.

The teams will train and play at the World Class FC facility in Orangeburg, NY directly across the street from Etihad City Football Academy in NY.

I wonder why NYCFC won't just buy the academy? They would acquire additional real estate and a full academy . It make sense to me

I'm pretty sure as someone mentioned earlier this is them trying to get out of the Women's Academy circle. Originally they had a couple women's teams if I recall correctly, but this is them passing the buck and eventually phasing out their name completely

But wish we got some GAM out of it. System is broken when we train these kids and then lose them for free.

Well, we do have his homegrown rights. No idea what those rules will be when Gio Reyna considers coming to MLS, but maybe he will be grandfathered in so we can get something out of it if he doesn't come to NYCFC.

Think when Gio Reyna considers coming to MLS will 1) NYCFC have its own stadium? 2) Will Claudio Reyna still be the Sporting Director?

If he went to Portugal, would that be enough for them to finally beat us at a World Cup?

Really would like to know Midas Mulligan's reaction to this. NYCFC beats Liverpool 1-0.

Watched the game, NYC was obviously the better team from my POV. The Haak goal was nice, seemed like it was a defensive breakdown, two defenders basically stood there for him to run through, basically gave him a semi-clear path into the 6 yard box. The whole team played well I felt, at least in my opinion.
