Di Marzio is a respected source. Seems like Pirlo prefers NYCFC over any other move. I'm not crazy about adding another aging player to the team, but Pirlo is fuckin' Pirlo. And he also has beautiful flowing hair.

Translation:

Andrea Pirlo, Juventus star, could end up playing in America, more precisely in New York. Red Bulls? No, the other. New York City FC, the team of Villa to speak. And Qatar? Better to the US, to a life experience that the director of the National'd all right. Pirlo, in fact, prefer to move to the shadow of the Statue of Liberty rather than elsewhere. In the past he had also searched Sabri Lamouchi, coach of Al-Jaish, ready to offer a contract to bring Pharaonic in the dunes. But Pirlo would have already decided matter. The contacts continue, America calls. The director, meanwhile, awaits the Champions League final against Juventus.ntract to bring Pharaonic in the dunes. But Pirlo would have already decided matter. I don't even care that he's 36 and we have severe defensive needs, Pirlo still has a lot left in the tank and would be an awesome player for the club.

Could you imagine a midfield of Pirlo-Mix-Lampard?

This move is also genius in terms of marketing.

Considering Pirlo's game as a deep lying playmaker, he's a guy who doesn't have to run much to make an impact on the game anyway. If we can find a way to pick up a couple defenders during the transfer window outside of the DP structure, I'm actually all for this.

I think we all know how much work our squad needs, but if we were able to sign Pirlo you have to applaud the front office.

By signing Villa, Lampard, and Pirlo, you're attracting a hell of a lot of fans from not only in the city but around the world.

Obviously, our play on the field needs to improve, but they really are "building a club for the next 100 years".

Pirlo runs a lot more than he gets credit for. He was only second to Vidal in distance covered in the Juve vs Real Madrid game.

And he's just f**king Pirlo

Pirlo would be massive. Not going to make us instant cup contenders with all our glaring holes but play off contenders ? I mean we'd be going from a mid that's basically Mix and a bunch of players boarder line good enough for the league to a mid where Mix is by some distance the third best player behind Pirlo and Lampard. Can't imagine that wouldn't be a bit of rocket fuel for the offense.

Definitely better than Drogba imo ! The best possible DP ? Too many players needed and not enough better options lol. Now the UEFA match will take even longer to come if an announcement is to follow.

Could end up being a disaster. Was terrible at Milan when he didn't have legs around him and is only effective for Italy and Juve with runners around him.

Well isn't this true of most players? The better the guys you're serving it up to, the better you're going to look. And vice versa.

This is a really good article talking about what really makes Pirlo ageless - his ability to do so much wiht so little effort: http://www.thescore.com/news/523296

No. Not better players. More mobile. Most players wouldn't get better in midfield when they're paired with someone like Marchisio.
