This one hurts. We had no fight up until about the 75th minute.
I’ll be happy to see the backs of some players after this season.
Only player I had confidence in going to shootouts was Tatty. Ring shouldn’t even be in your top 5, not to mention leading off. Piss poor pk attempt.
Chanot’s was that of someone who hasn’t likely never taken one in his life.

Going to have some tired legs going into this weekend. No chance Maxi plays.
We should have Callens back as well as SJ.
Will Sands be ready?

The darkest timeline. Players playing 5 games in two weeks tired legs extra time and people out still to injury and you don’t win.

I do like dome went for it though but really should of rested everyone for Portland. Used haak barraza JP etc instead on Sunday

Sunday lineup:
Taty - Heber - GMS
Mata - Ofori - Maxi - Tinny
Callens - Ring - Chanot
SJ

I really don’t have anything to say about the match. I won’t remember the match from tonight, I’ll remember everything else. Between what was posted above about Orlando fans going into a section of the stadium that was closed off that night for PKs to other incidents as referenced on r/MLS, I have a lot of thoughts.

But I’m not going to talk about them tonight, because I’m still processing everything. But I just needed to say something. And I’m posting here, because I’m afraid to do so on reddit where I may be attacked or anything with my real name to it because I may be targeted. Maybe I’m being paranoid, but tonight put a real black eye on away days that are normally fun and safe. I won’t be following up with answers at this time. This is more like a personal diary entry.

I don’t see myself traveling back to Orlando for the foreseeable future for away matches, and not about what happened on the field.

Orlando seems like a fanbase that crosses the line, and it's a shame you had your night ruined by assholes. Listen, we all love our teams and that's great, but at the end of the day this is a sports event. We're all there to have fun and escape from reality for a couple hours. Road fans -- and fans of all teams -- should be treated with respect. We're all soccer fans in a country that doesn't necessarily love the sport; we're all on the same team even if we're wearing a different color.

And yes, I feel the same way about Red Bulls fans. Chant at them, but don't it any further. Don't make them feel uncomfortable in our stadium. Don't be mean to fans of other teams just because they're wearing a different color shirt. That's the "ultra" bullshit that turns a lot of American sports fans off from soccer. Beat our opponents on the field, not in the stands. The extracurricular stuff is ridiculous.

EDIT: For someone who doesn't go on reddit, anyone want to give a little synopsis of what happened?

While I respect the Orlando fans for packing those sections these are serious grounds for forfeit. I don’t expect any action to be done but a stern warning from US Soccer to make sure nothing like this happens again would be greatly appreciated.

How do you propose stopping it? Of course fans are going to want to crowd those sections. That's just called home-field advantage. Nothing wrong with it. Play on.

Went to Orlando two years ago for the season opener. Same game that those nyc fans were arrested for assaulting cops. Anyway... I was out of the stadium wayyyy before that happened but walking down church street after the game we had multiple fans scream in our face, curse at us and threaten us. I’ll never go back. I’ve been to 6 different away games and fans have always been courteous and respectful taking to us about our trip, nycfc soccer culture with fun bantz in between. Fuck Orlando. Someone in the shout box said they hate Orlando almost as much as Red Bull and I tend to agree. It’s not a rivalry though. I dislike them because they’re rude, over confident pieces of shit that act holier then thou. Hope they never beat Atlanta or make the playoffs. Fucking losers.

I’d think the switching of ends for the PKs, to an end supposedly not open to seating and definitely not open to spectators without the proper ticket, would be grounds for a protest.

I also don’t think NYCFC has any interest in pursuing and/or continuing to have the schedule clogged. No way they take a stand on it even though the technicality warrants protest.

I agree. Their fans are rude, insufferable people. The team themselves tends to act like their fans and it's really disgusting. I do agree that I hate them almost as much as RB, but not bc rivalry- just because of how toxic their culture is.

...on the other hand, if I wasn't an NYCFC fan, there's one team I'd 100% support: Portland. Their fan base is amazing, their support is amazing, the team is great (I wasn't even mad losing to them) and it's something Orlando fans should strive to be like.

I'd also like to congratulate Portland on beating us, followed by LAFC (full strength), both on the road, 0-1. Amazing defensive work, and Savarese/assistant should be extremely proud of what they've accomplished! I'm rooting for them the rest of the way

...and so, the curse of losing in the quarters continues.

Sorry to hear that Lion. Seems like Orlando City has a big problem with managing away fans.
