We were a bit shaky in the first half but the second was just about perfect.
Whose your MOTM? Tatty or Maxi?
Tatty for me. Two great finishes and drew the two pens. Maxi on the other hand two penalties and two assists. Co-MOTM?

Two goals from run of play is bigger than two penalties. And throw in drawing the two penalties, and it’s easy.....

A bit of a statement match at partial strength.

Switch to 4-2-3-1 was the jewel. Taty had way more support and maybe this is why he stopped flopping so much (more reasons to keep plays alive).

I'm really impressed by how deep we look all of a sudden. Stuver looks more resilient with every game and actually stroking the ball around with more panache than SJ. Seb was crucial tonight. Taty has figured out his role and performing it at a swagger. Even Ofori looked dynamic and confident tonight.

Which makes the Medina / Mitri situations so puzzling.

Was sitting next to the entire Freese family and friend section in 114b (the union goalie tonight) and said “maxi is the worst PK taker in the league” before each of his two goals sooo credit to me for the reverses jinx.

(Also apologized to them after the game and said it was nothing personal. We thrash every team.)

((Is this how lion feels telling stories about the game?))

I forgot Mitrita was even in the lineup first half. I remembered second half with some of his selfish play.

The only time an away player family has sat near me Pitchside was Drew Moor's during the 2016 Playoff leg 2 match. I asked if she was from Canada. She responded, "No, New Jersey." I replied, "That's even worse." We both laughed.

The only thing I want to point to regarding this match was the poor refereeing. A Union player has a medical trainer come on in the 12' minute (where Taty got a yellow card). but then didn't come off the field after he was treated.

But the thing I really want to talk about was how Chanot was doing after being rammed by Ilsinho. I thought it was certainly a red card. Chanot was decked right at the head. There was a long free kick later where Chanot signal he didn't want to come up the field. I hope he's doing alright, get's an MRI tonight, and then eventually donates his brain to the study of CTE and soccer.

Listen he was great tonight so I don't want to drag the guy, but Castellanos really does dive all over the field. Both of those penalties were really soft. The second one far softer than the first. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the ref bought it, but he really does go down quickly. Dark arts. As long as it benefits us.

Maxi, man. The guy is just so ridiculously good. YES said he came into today with 3 goals and 8 assists over his previous 8 games -- make it 5 goals, 10 assists in his last 9. Insane numbers he's putting up right now. Everything we do revolves around him. He had an MVP-quality year last year, and he's been even better this year. He has to be re-signed.
