Jason Davis tearing into Viera on the radio. I can agree with some of it such as taking Villa off but the fact that he calls starting a Erik a bad move just makes him lose a ton of credibility IMO.
Starting Eirik is the last thing Vieira should be criticized for. You can tell the clowns who don't watch the team.

Yes, it would be egregious to suspend a team's top player for a playoff game. This isn't a slam-dunk suspension, and would be egregious to suspend him in this situation.

You see this in other sports like the NHL -- they work very hard not to suspend players -- even role players -- during the playoffs. And when they do suspend guys, the suspension is usually half the length it would be during the regular season.

I don't get this mentality at all. It shouldn't matter how good a player is when deciding whether or not to apply the letter of the law.

I don't want to get into the technicalities of when and whether the league can retroactively suspend players. But when a player kicks an opponent off the ball, it should be a red card and a suspension.

Edit: As for your point about not suspending people cos it's the playoffs (which I missed at first glance, sorry...)

I just feel like the best way to ensure you're not suspended in the playoffs is to not randomly kick people during the playoffs.

When you are getting mugged, as Cooper was doing until they gave him a yellow, you can make whiny bitch faces like Jozy does, and the Red Bulls do, or you can play the physical game the ref is calling.

That ref was letting a ton of wrestling go. Looking later at the game and trying to suspend players without context of the way the game was being called is not a fair application of the laws. There are four referees watching everything and they get to decide how much they are going to allow.

Villa, who knows a little bit about how to manage the refs during the game, thereby called attention to Cooper's fouling and it ended up earning the opponent a card. If you are going to suspend Villa, can you go back and call fouls on everything the Reds did prior to that happening? No, so that is why post game suspensions are not done and should not be done unless no one saw the infraction.
