Premier League 2019/20

This would be Patrick’s 3rd year coaching?
I think in that tIme neither has done much to show themselves to be better. I would take Lampard today over Vieira. Simply for the fact he’s coaching a young Chelsea side and getting results. I also think Chelsea always wanted Lampard to lead them. Not sure if the same applies to Arsenal and Vieira.

Let’s not sing Lampard's praises yet. He’s the guy who was pushing his master-class youth in Mount while sitting Pulisic, only to now realize his mistake with Pulisic on a tear scoring and Mount on the bench. Lamps is winning because Pulisic has pretty much delivered every game he’s been played in his natural position.

Even Berhalter could probably win if he played Pulisic in his preferred role...... Then again, nope, probably not, he’s that bad of a national team manager.

Some observations from today

Well Lampard Lost to West Ham today...

Citeh's title reign is done. Leicester are now the only outside chance of stopping Liverpool from lifting the EPL trophy.

Mourinho's biggest achievement so far at Spurs is making Dele Alli good again, could benefit England as well as Spurs if it continues.

City is looking like trash today.. getting dominated by Man U. how embarrassing.

Found their style a bit again in the second half. Way too much space between defense and midfield in the first 30 minutes. I think they were afraid of Man United pace on the counter so they sat deeper than usual. Of course that means Rodri was surrounded and when they broke from that space no one knew who to pick up. Because they were afraid of getting countered they were also afraid to lose the ball, so they weren't playing in the tight spaces like they usually do, which is crucial to drawing defenses in to those spaces and opening up spaces elsewhere.

In the second half they played shorter and closer and opened up a bit more space in Man U's defense but not enough to wear them down.

When that penalty decision was given I didn’t even flinch. When neither handball was given I didn’t say I word. VAR has seeped all the passion I had for the Prem out of me. When the final whistle blew I changed the channel and went about my day.

That sounds healthy as long as you can still enjoy the sport. Otherwise I'm not sure.

I watch Leeds in the EFL sans VAR and I wouldn't say it's better because of the lack of it. The injustice of poor refereeing has always been a passion-sapper for me.

The problem is how many times you have to wait and delay before being able to celebrate a goal that's really not working about VAR for me.

Son's goal for Spurs was ridiculous. I think , despite their midweek blip at United, Jose gets them back in CL.

You can celebrate all you like. Just means you have to be ok with having celebrated over something that turned out to be false lol.

The extreme swings between euphoria and desolation are vertiginous and exhilarating for me tbh. I don't think I've ever witnessed anything as dramatic as Sterling's goal being ruled offside in the CL quarters against Spurs in all my years of watching football.

To back the Pro VAR argument. Scotland has no VAR and Rangers dominated the Scottish League Cup final today but lost to a brilliant goal keeping performance and a blatantly offside goal against the run of play which was allowed to stand with no VAR to check it.

I'm fine with VAR, but I detest the offsides calls that are marginal and overturned by inches. I hate the way England does it with the lines and stuff. That's not what it's there for. If you can't tell it's offsides by the naked eye on replay, then you shouldn't overturn it. Frankly, even on offsides it should only fix clear and obvious errors.
