Premier League 2019/20

You obviously know Liverpool much better than I but I'd think if Gerrard wins trophies at Rangers no one else is clearly locked in as Klopp's successor.
The last several years of FSG's stewardship of Liverpool indicates that their thought processes run a little deeper than "let's get a club legend in to manage the first team". Klopp had enormously more coaching experience when he was hired by Liverpool than Gerrard will have by the time Klopp moves on. Gerrard will need to earn some stripes in a real league before he's seriously considered, I would imagine.

God, I hope you’re wrong. I don’t want Stevie for quite some time.

You know, I do always feel like there is something to us having the friendly derby. I enjoy y’all having some fighting spirit. No bullshit.
In any event, I am so beyond happy about the Prem, I really can’t speak.
I think we might actually win it. But I can’t be sure. Because I’ve lived life. Nonetheless, we’ve put together quite a fucking team. Hope we pull it off.

Lampard’s magician act is definitely flailing.... down 1-0 to a horrid Arsenal, a team everybody is ripping apart, and he’s stuck Pulisic back in the doghouse for some unknown reason. And yet Mount once again has a starting spot...... (sigh).....

Pulisic has a hamstring injury - supposedly just precautionary. Otherwise spot on.

That’s the official word out of Chelsea, but he also didn’t start in the 2-3 matches before that, so the hamstring “issue” wasn’t present then and yet he still wasn’t playing which is a coach’s decision.

VAR in PL is a joke. Taking away the Wolves goal makes the game stupid. The technology isn’t good enough to deny a goal on what MIGHT be millimeters offside.

I completely agree. All those lines on the screen imply a level of precision that is simply not there. Pixilation, camera distortion, and frame rate all contribute to a lot of uncertainty. Absent something "clear and obvious", the original decision is supposed to stand.

Indeed. The standard is clear and obvious but for offsides the pl uses de minimus margins.

If you can't see with the naked eye whether the decision was wrong, within 5 seconds of watching it. It's not clear as obvious

Also.. wolves look visibly exhausted. For their style of play the short turn around is really effecting them

Harry Kane out to April, sorry Spurs fans. They really need to go and spend on an adequate fill in but Levy probably won't despite new stadium money.

Is there a bigger bunch of moaners in the world than the English? Talk about self-absorbed. These guys are out of their minds. They literally cry nonstop over a system that’s been put into place that objectively makes decisions more correct.

I can’t even with those people. They are dire.

You should hear what they say about you!

As usual I agree with the crux of what you're saying but not necessarily the sentiment. It's not just the English who are complaining about VAR.

And I don't think anyone hates VAR itself, just the implementation of it, which admittedly has room for improvement.
I also think many people are conjoining their frustration with the new IFAB handball and offside rules with VAR, as they are often both involved together, but are two separate sources of frustration.

Not sure if this has been reported yet or if it's new info, but according to WSJ:

"Sports on Peacock will include Olympics coverage, which NBCUniversal has the rights to into the next decade, Premier League soccer and golf’s Ryder Cup. The NFL, which NBCUniversal has rights for, won’t be on Peacock."

Peacock will be $4.99 with ads, or $9.99 without ads. The $4.99 version is going to be bundled with Comcast and Cox subscribers for "free" and they will also have a basic free version with limited content, probably not premier league.

No other info such as how many matches available, what tiers, live/on demand.

Comcast’s Peacock Aims to Undercut Streaming Rivals https://www.wsj.com/articles/comcas...-99-a-month-with-ads-9-99-without-11579208437

From reading that article, I don't have the warm and fizzles about this service catching on outside of the bundled customers.
