Queensboro FC

Will Villa suit up for Boro in 2020?

  • Yes, and I’ll go to watch him play

  • Yes, but I won’t care

  • No, and i don’t care now that he left NYCFC

  • No, but if he did I’d have to attend

This is shaping up to be an embarrassment of epic proportions for CFG and, to me, would be the definitive proof that they have entirely lost interest in this project.

Will make Lampardgate look like a walk in the park.

Sometimes you believe something because the alternative is unthinkable. I lean towards believing that NYCFC is close to a deal in the Bronx, in part and substantially because the prospect that they allow a brand new USL team to secure a stadium site before they do is unthinkable. It could kill the NYCFC project.

You're both right. Conventional wisdom assumes we are either "in" on this project in some way or, most likely, have our site prepared.
However, if that proves to be wrong, and a USL club is able to walk in and build a stadium while we have not, that answers everything we need to know about the future of our club. At that point, CFG ought to just surrender their franchise license, because they will be toast if they believe they can simply keep playing in Yankee Stadium and keep any type of a fanbase while they missed an opportunity.

They HAVE to have something in the works.

Either way we'll have a team in NY with a stadium, or so we hope, and that's the most important thing for NY soccer culture- regardless of who wins!

ETA:
Best case scenario is both have a stadium set, and slightly worse but still great would be a shared stadium.

Trying to think of branding concepts using Queens landmarks. I don't love the "unisphere," but what about the Rocket Thrower as an icon on a crest in the style of Detroit City?

I like the Unisphere. Can also use a crown for Queens, it’s in the County Flag.

Yeah the crown and/or the Tudor Rose are probably safe icons to use.

What about colors? Blue and Yellow?

EDIT: I'm recreating FC New York lol.

For some reason green and white (Jets, parks department) always struck me as very ‘Queens’.

What is the story behind the "f" in "f.cosmos"?

Stands for Fake. Because they aren’t associated at all with the original franchise. They just purchased their IP and now reference Cosmo history like it’s their own, even through there’s zero connection between the ownership, league, front office and even fan base of the original club.

Will f.cosmos even exist in 2 years? Can’t use red. Can’t use blue. Gold?

For primary color:

New York Red Bulls = Red (secondary dark blue and yellow)
New York City FC = Light Blue (secondary dark blue and orange)
New York Cosmos = Green (secondary dark blue and yellow)

Gold with red and white accents? Villa's spanish colors basically. Doesn't feel super "Queens" though.

Otherwise I like yellow and blue:
