Recap Of Isc Conference

HT: What is the biggest issue with supporter culture in America right now?
DM: That's a very interesting question. Outside of the closer regional rivalries, we haven't seen a whole lot of large-scale travel to matches, by that I mean consistent visiting crowds in the thousands. As a result, some teams are better or worse at handling large numbers of visitors, whether that means getting people into the stadium in an organized fashion, how they are separated from home fans in the stadium (if at all), and how ticket allocation is handled. I think travel in all its facets will continue to be an issue that supporters will have to take the lead on as the popularity of the league grows. Beyond travel, I think league accountability is a big issue, because dealing with a lot of individual issues are left up to the teams, rather than acknowledged/directed by the league itself.
I'd imagine that the only way to actually fix Away-Day attendance is by not playing in a country the size of the United States.
The longest travel distance in the EPL IS Bournemouth-->Newcastle at 359 miles.
The closest travel distance in MLS is Red Bull-->New England at 217 miles

How was the experience for you? Any other events aside from a general assembly? how many attendees altogether?

Eye opening.

Yeah, we all (except NJRB people) hung out together any time we weren't in the conference room. We hit several different bars over the weekend, we ate lunch together, we drank and played pool in the penthouse in the hotel. We really only separated to sleep. Here and there we were in smaller groups.

I don't remember the attendance number. Mostly everyone is in the photo, so count them up.

Yeah. Me and RB people. That's it. I completely ignored them 99% of the time I was there. One of them complained about me ignoring them to a TR member. Why did I ignore them? Because they just seemed awfully wrapped up in their own little world and I didn't want to intrude. On Thursday night, we all met at a bar to greet and drink and just celebrate the occasion. RB group shows up and while EVERYONE is mingling and drinking, these three are sitting at a table at the rear of the room together. The one dude did eventually get up to greet people but the rest of them just sat there. It was strange energy and I didn't want any part of it. Every other time we were out together that weekend, they were not around. ONLY them. They ate lunch with us but that was it.

Everyone else was more than cordial. We all got along so well. No exaggeration whatsoever, we spent every waking moment together while we were there. Even on the last day, I went to brunch with the two ladies from Terminus Legion. I got stuck because my flight got cancelled and Sean from KC Cauldron comped my extra night with points. It was truly fantastic. I was Periscoping from the penthouse we were in playing pool and drinking. It was so much fun. Everyone was there sharing ideas, chatting up and you would have thought we'd know each other for years.
