Added a poll, as I had for Dome's tenure for NYCFC. After 2 games it isn't really fair to answer, but you can change your votes at any time. Always a good barometer for how the Forums view the head coach.

this guy always tweets stuff about any thing MLS related but I don’t know why Lots of people gives him lots of credit. IIRC there were two signings he was putting for Miami and none came true.

That's insane. I would be incredibly disappointed if he were fired after getting only 5 MLS games. Yes we've struggled, but that's not the way successful teams operate. Give the guy a chance. If you were only going to give him five games, you shouldn't have hired him in the first place.

i mean they had GVB ready to go if dome lost vs Minnesota it was like 7th game in season , so would not be too shocking.

BRING BACK DOME! I WANT THE PRETTY PINEAPPLE!

Give him whatever it is he wanted FO!

Hi
UK based Bristol City fan here. There was a rumour on our forum yesterday that Domenec Torrent was amongst the candidates for our Head Coach role.
How was he rated in NYC? Your fans poll suggests a mixed view.
Would be interested in your views.

It took the players about 25 games to take to his style, but once they did he had us top of the table and a threat to win the entire league. We were sad to see him resign after last season.

But at that point he had NYCFC on, what, 4 wins over a 20-game span? That's very different than what Ronny has been given.

I’m of the belief that the remainder of 2018 was given to him as try and keep the PV ship steady. 2019 was his ship and it was not doing well in the beginning of season so they were ready to let him go after 7 games.

We are at a similar point (in terms of games) of the start of the season where they willing to let a manager go. I guess that’s the only true similarity.

Dome had the team playing a very attractive flowing style of soccer. I could watch the games with fans of the top teams in the world and they would appreciate our style of play and enjoy watching our games even though the players arent top of the world caliber. Dome would probably get Bristol playing like Brentford. You should hope the rumor is true.

we’ve scored one goal

Sometimes, you hire the wrong guy. You may realize it quickly or it may take longer. Once you realize you got the wrong guy, you move immediately. Bad organizations keep the wrong guy "to give him time" or "let him at least get another year" to prove himself.
I'm not at training so I don't know what's what, but if CFG brass have determined definitively that they got the wrong guy, letting him stick around to prove it is never a good idea, especially as some leagues are closing their seasons and managers are more readily available to replace him.

It's hard to tell after so few games after he was hired so late and all this weirdness is going on, but he has been around the players for much of six months now, so if the "locker room" is not behind him now he's already toast. If the players are griping to the GM, that would be a big part of the reasoning to move swiftly.

With all that said, I'm not sure how much credibility that Twitter person has.

If he came and got us playing like Brentford the fans would be well pleased.

Always had a soft spot for the Bees - hope they make it through the play offs

We're playing a preseason tournament. We have yet to see what the system looks like when players are match-fit.

we played 2 regular season matches pre-COVID and 3 CCL matches. The only time we scored was vs an overmatched Costa Rican team.

This account has been wrong about a lot of things but he did happen to be right about the hiring of Deila and was the first on it.
Perhaps he has a better source for Deila-related items, IDK. But it does seem like an odd rumor considering how little time Deila has had here, and even more so considering the trajectory this same club experienced with the hiring of Dome (slow start, great finish, etc)

I also know that David Lee is from Europe, but I don't get the sense this team is that cutthroat when it comes to coaches. If we were in relegation position with 20 games to go, maybe I could see it. But in MLS's system there is no reason to spend that much money on firing a coach 7 months after you hired him, and after so few games.

I also don't buy that it's Ronny's fault we haven't scored -- we've had good chances, we're just not finishing. Ronny hasn't been perfect, but he hasn't been so bad that he should be fired this few games into such a bastardized season.
