Rumor: McNamara for Saad Abdul-Salaam

East, no idea. the Rapids look like they could use a midfielder with some level of creative spark though.
Just out of curiosity Mr JGarrettLieb JGarrettLieb I have and use the spell check on my computer all the time. Is there such a thing as grammar check? When I use caps on some of my words it's to emphasis how I feel or the importance of said words . Yes I know it's wrong , but it's to make a point of what I'm saying. I will say I would use grammar check. I think it would be interesting . Thanks !! :)

How in hell do people live under the impression Tommy McNamara deserves to be a starter in MLS?

How many different places do I have to list the ways he's grossly deficient? All the deficiencies in all the places I guess.

This is the internet era, there is always a method to reduce the work you have to put into something.

Jesus, I like the guy, but how many MLS teams does he start for? The next tweet he says TMac is one of the top young american #10s in MLS. When has he played at the #10 in MLS?
Yeah, I'm not sure there are many teams he would start for.

On the next tweet, I think part of his point is that the "top young american #10s in MLS" are not all that talented. But I definitely don't think that TMac is a #10.

Andrew Jacobson is a valuable starter for Vancouver. Chris Wingert is a valuable starter for RSL. Incredibly, Columbus defense imploded Wednesday night when they subbed Josh Williams out. TMac is an MLS starter, just not for us right now.

Jason Hernandez started for Toronto in their win at Seattle last Saturday.

McNamara has a place in MLS. Let's not understate what he brings. He's a goal poaching attacking midfielder. People will also pay for goals. Is he a consistent starter on a quality team? I don't think so. But look at how many chances guys like CJ Sapong and Jack McInerney have gotten. Or Chris Pontius. If they think you can get a goal, you'll play.

That's a solid point, and there may be some people out there undervaluing him.

I do think he provides value, I just don't see him as someone that will start on most MLS teams. I like him being available on our bench, as well as being able to provide spot starts when needed. But I honestly think there may be more value out there by trading him, considering the current makeup of our roster.

We were a quality team last year, and he started 28 games for us, bagging 5 goals and 9 assists. Wallace is still an upgrade for us - especially for his pace and defense. But Tommy can start and contribute on a good team. If he were something less than that, we wouldn't be speculating about trading him. Nobody is wondering whether we will trade Lopez or Shelton or RJ, just like nobody wondered whether we would trade Grabavoy or Wingert. TMac is different. He's a solid player. We have upgraded the position, but plenty of teams could do well with him.
