I've been watching it. It's good. It's a little surface level in that it doesn't go into super detail about the building of the stadium or the inner workings of the team: each episode is around 15-20 minutes.

It really makes me respect Bob Bradley a lot more. He seems like a solid coach. The episode where he coaches against Michael is an interesting watch.

Yes. I look at BB differently now.

Triple Frontier, a Netflix movie with a good cast just came out. Hearing good and bad reviews.

I watched it Wednesday night, I thought for the cast it was a rather lackadaisical movie. Some decent scenes and chirps, but to be honest I was kind of bored for most of it. Seeing Oberyn in a different role seemed weird though. I don't think I can split Pedro Pascal from any other role. Seemed like a weird mixed dream for Poe Dameron, Oberyn Martell, Batman, and a Jäger Pilot.

I'm halfway through Ricky Gervais's After Life on Netflix.

It's a real change-up for him, I think, a guy who's spent most of his career getting laughs out of portraying people / humanity as stupid. More of a Mike Leigh type of effort so far, finding grace in overlooked places, people and situations. Really, really good.

This is less a recommendation and mostly just sharing an amusing juxtaposition that appeared on my Apple TV last night.
Also now I want a show featuring both Crow and Alan Arkin.
And also Arkin is an under-appreciated national treasure.

Watched the first two episodes of American Gods season 2 on Starz. It's reasonably good though nowhere near as good as the book.

This is an animated anthology series on Netflix. Released last Friday. Everything about this show is of the highest quality. The animation is varied and distinct for each episode. Some of which I have never seen anything like it before, specifically the episode titled "The Witness". As good as the animation is, the true hallmark of this series is the storytelling. While some are weaker than others, each story's direction, writing, and pacing is expertly executed. Some stories are not wholly original, but again its the way they are packaged that displays creativity and no restrictions, that sets it apart from other anthology shows. Other stories are simply downright wacky, like "When The Yogurt Took Over", whereby scientists accidentally breed super-intelligent yogurt. Some stories simply blow your mind away, like "Zima Blue", an artist that displays his creations in galactic proportions. Collectively, the series leads to an amalgam of horror, humor, action and human tragedy. It's not to be missed.

My favorites are Sonnie's Edge, The Witness, Sucker of Soules, Good Hunting, Zima Blue, and the Secret War. Out of these, I would give it to Sonnie's Edge... that was my first entry into the show and it just blew my mind!!!!

I wish I would have read your post before watching it. Awful movie. Too many plot holes and unrealistic script - for supposed special forces, they operated like noobs at times (hello, bright orange jacket during firefight or a guy easily hiking over the Andes lugging duffle bags of cash with a gut-wound and no loss of blood/strength ?!?). That probably deserved a spoiler tag, but I don’t want anybody to waste their time on the movie. Really, don’t watch it.

I watched it. Looking at the cast and premise it had so much potential in the beginning only to end up lackluster. Like our NYCFC seasons before now. It reminded me of the short stories I'd have to write in high school where I came up with a seemingly cool concept but didn't work it out all the way out of lack of creativity and laziness and ended up with a shitty ending.

ripped through the first season of Barry on HBO (only eight 30-minute episodes) since the second season starts on Sunday - I highly recommend if you like dark comedies, Bill Hader, Henry Winkler, and Stephen Root

Just started going through this and it immediately reminded me of The Animatrix (animated anthology based on The Matrix)

Just finished watching it last night, I enjoyed a lot of the episodes. Like you said, really well written short stories and the animation for them is well done. Pleased to have sat through them all, the stories do go very quick. Highly recommend to watch. Keep in mind, it is a bit gruesome and there is a decent helping of nudity. Those with younger children shouldn't put this on with the younglings awake.

just finished it! pretty sure you can bang through them all in 3 hours - it's interesting to hear which ones people liked sincet the results vary wildly - my favorites were: The Witness, Three Robots, Beyond the Aquila Rift, Zima Blue, Good Hunting, Helping Hand, Lucky 13, and Fish Night - a lot of people liked Alternate Histories and When the Yogurt Took Over, but the animation was weak and felt like a viral YouTube video
