Got up early to watch my Rangers kick off the new season this morning. Pretty frustrating match not quite sure if I should take the positive view which is; win at a difficult place to play on a plastic pitch. Resiliencey shown to find a stoppage time winner after blowing a late lead...

Or the negative view. Lots of possession with little end product. Late lead blown which was a problem last year. Failure to match that other lot's emphatic season opener..

Overall I didn't think it was enjoyable match to watch but I did go a bit mental and walked away from it happy after the late winner. Hoping they show me something more next Sunday against Hibs.

Bump:

Rangers for the first time in a long time look back to Rangers. Yes there was a red car involved but last year they wouldn't have beat Hibs 6-1. Jermaine Defoe starting with squad rotation scoring a perfect hat trick. Alfredo Morelos off the bench for 15 minutes with a brace. Not going to say w'ere better than then the other lot from across town yet (they did win both their games so far by convincing scorelines) but I do see a very close and very legit title challenge in Scotland for the first time in many years.

*The Rangers

Also, boooo to this being only about the Premiership, meaning The World Famous Dundee United are out of the discussion for at least another year....

I can adjust the title of the thread or we can just allow you to discuss Dundee United here since I think we're the only two people here remotely interested in Scottish football ! :D I thought we used to have some people of the Green and Grey persuasion on here but they haven't been rearing their heads lately.

It should be noted Rangers have very few Scots in the team right now. Of those Only Allan McGregor in goal and Ryan Jack in midfield are likely to see significant minutes. Rangers seem to have started largely building through the English lower leagues under Warburton and Gerrard seems to be continuing that plus supplementing with EPL loans.

Rangers beat East Fife 3-0 in the league cup. The match itself was unremarkable what I enjoyed was seeing a massive team like Rangers playing at a ground that holds under two thousand people, has turf (well not that part), the carpark and cars in it clearly visible from the run of play and there were people standing on a hill right over the car park (and just in front of the sea) watching the match from outside.

Rangers played to a nil nil in Warsaw against Legia. All to do at Ibrox next week. I think they should be able to beat Legia at home based on today but an away goal could prove deadly as their not easy to score on.

Rangers labored to victory over St. Mirren. A special free kick from Borna Barasic settling it. I'm pleased , of course, that their a perfect 3-0-0 but a bit worried they've had more trouble in maintaining that perfect record than Celtic who seem to have cruised to their 9 points so far. Old firm early next Sunday morning I'm counting down.

Stoppage time winner from Morelos Puts Rangers into the Europa league proper again. Now just need to cap the big week with a victory in The Old Firm .

Great week for derby games!!!

TWFDUFC papped the wee team and reminded them there's only one team in Dundee by knocking six past them for the second time in recent years!!

Also, our American with the giant neck Ian Harkes scored number 5 and since our owners are from Minnesota, United fans were waving American flags and chanting USA at the end of the game

Can’t claim rangers did enough to win but I think Celtic’s first goal was offside , no VAR in Scotland

Rangers with a 3-1 win over Livingston. Not a great performance but a game I'm not sure they'd have come back to win in recent seasons, so encouraging result in it's way.

Ryan Kent injured in his return, not good, Brandon Barker did step in with a nicely taken goal.

Rangers start there Europa League group stage campaign with a 1-0 win over Feyenoord I'd consider that a good result and decent scalp .

Celtic finally drop points in a 1-1 draw with Hibs and Rangers take advantage hammering Aberdeen 5-0 ! Back to a one point difference at the top of the table.

While I think it's a great result for Rangers I do think it's arguably a bad result for the competitive balance of Scottish football on the whole. Aberdeen were Celtic's (still distant) closest competition during Rangers wilderness years. When Rangers initially came back up Aberdeen were very competitive with them doesn't look like the case anymore after today.

Celtic lose for the first time ever to Livingston and Rangers with another 5-0 This time against Hamilton accies. Rangers are top of the table heading into the international break! Feeling a lot better than after the Old Firm match!
