Season Ticket Holders: Anyone Been Asked About Renewals For Next Year?

Just talked to a rep and they said seat selection for moves will be in early December, not starting in November as they had hoped for. No biggie, just things taking a little longer than anticipated.

I just got a call and Im a bit confused and upset. I downgraded from 3 seats to 2 seats. And my representative just called me if I knew anybody that might like my 3rd seat. I said no. He said there might be a chance they might reshuffle me to another seat to accomodate 3 people in the seat. Is this normal? I am new season ticket holder ever. Upset the org would that to my seats, this is where I supported the team in highs and lows.

I downgraded from 3 to 2 also and it was a pain in the ass. You couldn't do it online and had to call the rep to do it. They really tried to push the 3rd seat on me, "ask a friend, etc.". Still haven't received the docusign/gift choice email but they already hit my card with the initial payment. They best not shuffle the OG around!

I took over my friends ticket and went from 2-3 and they said they can't move the account to mine since they are separate until next season. So if I can't go to a game I now have to try and sell a set of 2 and a single. Not to mention the bitch of having 2 accounts and not having a single cityzens account.

You can sell all 3 at once on stubhub.

There's bound to be people going from 3 to 2 and from 2 to 3. I would hope that they'd call you and suggest possible move locations rather than just doing it summarily, but Gotham Gator Gotham Gator is correct about the rationale.

To be fair, a drop from 3 to 2 means there is now a single ticket by itself, which can be very difficult to sell.
I know this pretty much has nothing to do with the discussion at hand, but as a guy who bought single match tickets all season long, I can attest to the PITA it is when dealing with 2-3/3-2 ticket situations.

Several times during the season I wanted to sit in a particular section, but there would only be 3 seats together. Ticketmaster refused to let the sale go through if I tried to purchase 2 of them. When 3 are together you have to take them all or look elsewhere.

Never did I anticipate we would be at 20K STHs by the end of Year 1. I honestly thought we'd have 10K STHs and average 15-18K per game. It's a truly amazing accomplishment.

Tom Glick, NYCFC president disagreed with your pessimism.

I realize its about as coherent as a three year old's drawing, but I got that off of NYCFC's official twitter. Its interesting that management's original goal was 17k season ticket holders. From a business perspective NYCFC is already a smashing success. I can see why the organization is so paranoid about making the post season next year, New York sports fans are famously fickle. And setting a good starting tempo can do wonders for an organization like this.

good piece, thanks for posting. Some of my pessimism was biased, having been RBNJ STH since 2006, prior to the launch of NYC.

so the multiple texts and emails about the renewal deadline despite having already renewed were annoying at first but quicky moving into the 'pissing me off' zone.

i just renewed on the account management website. where's the option to relocate seats?

eh, my rep is a tool. I'd rather take a sharp stick in the eye then talk to him. I can wait it out, worst case i stay in my current seats.

just wondering what other people saw when they renewed.

There should have been an option to request a relocation on the initial Enroll Now email. If you filled that out, someone will contact you sometime in November about it. When depends on where you are in line for relocation. People who bought their inaugural season tickets first have first priority regardless of when you renewed.

17 home games. Those 5 TBD are a bit odd. Since teams don't handle tickets for the MLS cup, we would have a maximum of 3 playoff matches at home: knockout, eastern semis, eastern finals. Wonder what those other two could be? NY City v. Man City friendly?Screen Shot 2015-10-29 at 10.19.50 PM.png
