Seattle - Postmatch

LionNYC LionNYC what was the bench like when ITS and Mitrita were substituted? It seemed like both may be in hot water.

While I thought giving Medina MVP was bogus, he did show some confidence and hopefully he starts trending up now. This could have been a turning point for him.

Mitrita is worth at best 25% of what we paid for him.

Dome was pissed at ISI from the outset, had Medina warning up five minutes into the game and almost called for the sub within the first ten minutes. He was fuming at him.

I missed that, what caused that?

Positioning, and a couple of terrible passes. I think that Dome thought that he was checked out from the whistle. LionNYC LionNYC keyed me in so he may have a better report.

I thought Isi was off in his passing, but that usually doesn’t get the coach yelling at him from the start. That usually has to do with not following directions or putting out effort. I thought his effort was fine, and I couldn’t tell about instructions.

Let's just give some praise to Ofori's rocket from like 30 yards.

Also, for the second goal, Taty flicked it past that Seattle player, drove upfield and fed that ball to Medina. Great stuff.

First half, though, we were able to tear apart their midfield (albeit with far too many turnovers) but just could not find a pass or shot which didn't end up blocked or intercepted.

At Pitchside...

Dome to his coaching staff: "We have to play softer. Soft."

Fan Pitchside who overheard to Dome: "This is New York. We have to play hard."

There was no interaction between the two. :p

Me to the 4th official after 8 minutes was announced as stoppage time: "8 minutes? Are you serious? It's a holiday weekend. People need to get to the Hamptons."

Parks’ defensive game was terrific again. And that was always called out as the weakest part of his skill set.
Agree that Parks was really strong. Of course, Ofori was terrific too. We have such a deep team.

Also a shout out to Stoove. He’s been terrific. Not just making key saves, but he distributed quite well, including some nice upfield shots to the wings.

1) MAxi stopping to lecture Shradi like "you should go there. OVER THERE!!" and then getting dispossessed was the weirdest play of the night... or so I thought, until
2) FUCKIN' KEATON PARKS' HEAD-TO-BALL THING! That was one of the greatest moves I think I've ever seen in my life, and I only wish we had scored from that... because then that would have been on every highlight reel ever!!
3) I honestly think the first half was utter crap, our players were not feeling it... Second half, and with the medina substitution, we were actually doing very well!
4) Stuver was excellent.
