Seriously Stopped Supporting?

Yeah, uh, I do.

I'm not about to forget that. They screwed us and barely even bothered with an apology.

Months ago. You have a valid reason, but can't we just agree that it sucks and move on instead of making the topic a centerpiece of every conversation.

And I 100% agree with ^doc, we are NYC. We've got to be classier than Orlando and Philly. Especially Orlando. That place is a dump.

Just think of all the street cred that the charter members will have after we get a couple of seasons under our belts. When times get tough we will be able to straighten our back, square our chin, empty our mug and say, "you should have been here for the first season when we limped miserably to the All-star Break. That is when the true supporters separated ourselves from the bandwagon bastards and united into the force that we are today. Now hand me my hover cane and lets set off some smoke simulators!"

Management has not done itself any favors in various ways but we've discussed that to death.

I think many are just getting warn down by the constant stream of hate/negativity from other fans and in general towards the team, not winning doesn't make it any easier but if that were the only issue it wouldn't be so tiring.
This this this. Personally it's fuck everyone who's not us. We all we got.

It's not in my DNA to just go to the game and "relax". I am going to be emotionally involved, either way. Being pissed (angry) and calling out poor play is part of the experience for me. Happy go lucky fandom is not my thing. If it's yours, fine. Enjoy.

That is not how I am a fan. It's not how I'm a fan of any other team/sport, and I don't see it happening now. I did the whole go and enjoy the game thing when I lived in Houston and went to Astros games or when I used to go to RBNY matches. I was an attendee. With this team, I'm a supporter/fan, so my disposition on a given match day is going to reflect our performance. Sorry I'm not sorry.

Just sold my 3 authentics for $75. After last night I'm done with this team.... Said no one. Even after the losses and everything I'm here to stay, we are here to stay. Screw those giving up. We are passionate fans who love our team.

The chicken sandwich I had at the stadium during Sunday's game was awful. I'm done with this team. Selling my season tickets Good luck eating that garbage. They'll never win with that kind of food being served.

Only plastic fans eat chicken. That's your problem right there. You probably read off a printed menu, too. Organic fans memorize the food options in advance.

Guess you're right because that chicken sure tasted like plastic.

You are the absolute worst. Seriously. You're just the worst.

Your diatribe is very familiar:

If you're going to insult me, at least use the quote function right, dude. You're hiding your bad grammar and fucked up reasoning with an extra click.

There are plenty of reasons to be pissed at the club, and losing has very, very little to do with it. I've listed many reasons I'm pissed, and "David Villa hasn't scored enough goals" isn't on it. It's not even close to the list.

I've been an Indiana University Football season ticket holder nearly my entire life until I moved to the northeast, and we've made the postseason exactly once in the last twenty years - I'm the last person you should accuse of being a bandwagoner. A club should have to earn your loyalty, and New York City FC right now is barely even trying to earn mine or yours. Trust me - I've begged them to try.
Wasn't trying to hide anything just a mistake.
Just picked up on your post on how negative in your view Everything about nycfc is ,quite a long list and YOU quoted not winning as one of them.
If you feel so strongly after only 9 games why bother supporting ?
I stuck with city through 35 YEARS of being shit and the club messing the fans about.
Sorry if you took offence but don't get being so negative so soon ,what did you exspect from a new team ?

"Sorry if I took offense?"

You called me a dick and told me to grow a pair. Pray tell, how are you not trying to cause offense?

Edit: "Losing" simply means that "winning club" isn't in the "pro" column for most fans as to why to stick with the club. If you asked me to put together my list of pros and cons for the club, it'd be much, much longer.

I'm pissed at the ownership for the shit they put us through before even playing a game. How many games we've played have zero to do with it. And although I fully recognize people are ready to move past it, I, personally, can't. Why should I lie about it?

But, most importantly, who said City stopped at just 35 years of being shit? You really are Typical City. #banter

Why get one chicken sandwich, when you can get 5 small chicken sandwiches and 1lb of fries served in a bucket?

Reading your post that's how It came across moaning and giving up after 9 games.
Maybe I should have put stop being so silly and stay positive
I have apologised once already

City will always manage to snatch defeat when its easier to win.!!
Typical city carnt be killed off however many millions you throw at it.
The worring thing is it seems to have krept across the water.
What I was trying to say was on the scheme of things it could of been worse stay strong and keep the faith 9 games v 45 years in my case of shitness is nothing to panic about

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

We have a strong fan base, but with a few caveats.

It looks like we have some people with a strong sense of entitlement. Probably the same type of fans that are constantly calling for Arsene Wegner to be fired, like the Madrista's who attack players cars at the end of a bad game, similar to the Serbian fans destroying barriers in Italy.

If you want to bitch and moan, thats your perogative, but it reflects a weak character. This isn't a Newcastle situation. It's different than that.

I'd like a fan base like Dortmund. They go through the worst season they've had in years and the fans support the club with a positive, reinforcing attitude that resonates from the stands and into the sidelines.

If you want to create a culture where your opinion matters the most and you believe that your insight on strategy and acquisitions is more valid than the FO, you're on the right track.

I know it's fun and topical to always have a visceral attitude, every loves to listen to the angry guy who sounds depressingly interesting.

But to people like me, who have actually lived a life out of a backpack, riding motorcycles across the country, partying in foreign countries with no regard for personal safety, living a soccer culture in Europe and South America, it's boring and trite.

After a while, the angry guy with nothing good to say is just that. Angry, and boring, and all alone, waving his fist at the clouds and shouting at everything and nothing all at once.

They actually won't make me happy so long as every vendor I go to tells me that my discount doesn't apply. Wtf? They say everything but alcohol, but by god try to actually claim the discount somewhere. Nothing but a litany of excuses as to why it doesn't apply.

And after a while, the kool aid sipping sunshine pumper is just that. A fucking intellectual midget. Incapable of distinguishing criticism from caring.

I mean, some of you guys are actually eating this shit up? Holy fuck. Guys, this is the most self-aggrandizing shit ever posted here.

Who is this righteous poet-warrior of ours?

Bahahaaha. I bet his blog is awesome.

Wait: I guessed the name - "Zen and the Art of Proper Supporter Behavior" subtitle: "still fatuous as fuck".
