Cleaned up. Take it to PM.
I'm generally not a huge fan of having these posts deleted - I'm curious how everybody else feels about this. I know that you have good intentions, NYCFC_Dan NYCFC_Dan , but feel that people should have the choice about what happens to their posts, within reason. I am a fan of transparency and didacticism.

I don't know if there are clear guidelines that I haven't read, or whether the posts infringed upon those guidelines. Although if the latter were true, I wouldn't know, because they've been removed!

It's all spelled out by Dan/Site. Not picking on you, but guessing that 98% of the users don't read the fine print before signing up.

Ive been one of the more vocal complainers in here about Okoli's lazy play on Wednesday but just remembered something that happened on Wednesday that really annoyed me.

As Okoli was walking off the pitch due to being subbed out, he turned back to the supporters section to clap and thank us. In return the supporters section booed him off the field.

Im never really a big fan of booing your own players especially when its a kid whos barely gotten any starting minutes for us.

There was a ball played to Okoli down towards the supporters section that initially looked like it was over-hit. Ugo reigned up like it was a lost cause when he really should have been able to get to it. I'm not sure it' a laziness issue as much as it is an endurance issue. Ugo isn't the striker to play a through ball to. He's big, a little lumbering and uses his base to gain positioning. He is almost exactly like Adam Nemec (without the touch/skill), and we haven't seen any success with these types of players. I think they get used to having Villa up top to slide a ball in behind and have David run after it, and it's just a bad way to play Okoli.

I'll typically only delete if it's a flame war. Leaving posts up only allows the same stuff to continue. In this case a member was labeled a racist and I received a lot of reports in defense of that member.
If someone does make racist comments on the forums they will be temp banned or at the very least warned. In this case all that was said was a player was being lazy. 5 responses later we have a member being called racist and the word being thrown around freely.
I made the decision to end the conversation there and ask that it goes to PM to keep it from turning into an all out hate war.
Now if someone makes a topic about the issue at hand here and discuss it openly I'm okay with that.
Do black players get labeled as 'being lazy' and white players 'unatheltic'?

That was the issue at hand here and it went downhill in a hurry and I asked that it be resolved privately. It's one thing to make the comment above but another issue if we're labeling someone a racist for simply saying a player was lazy. But again, perfectly fine with the discussion happening.

Thanks, I appreciate the explanation.

For the record, I never labeled anyone racist. I said all the Okoli hate/use of the word lazy sounded racist to me. It was not directed at any member at all, and it still isn't. It wasn't even posted in specific response to any member's anti-Okoli post.

I was the only member called/labeled racist by another.

This is exactly why I deleted everything.

Makes sense you deleted it all, and we all appreciate you, but I would ask you to be more accurate in what you write.
