Regarding the pigeon/coop subject, I forget exactly how the story goes, but at some point Vancouver had a section of their old section referred to as "The Coop" to the point where one of their supporters' scarves said "Supporting from the Coop", with pigeons and everything, and so it was appropriately gifted to me by a Vancouver supporter.

I proposed giving the stadium the nickname "The Loft", not "The Coop" so there wouldn't be any confusion there.

Didn't know that about Vancouver though. Kind of like our chicken bucket supporter group heh.

Operation Columba: Pigeon Intelligence

Pigeons are more intelligent than we give them credit for, one of the few animals – along with great apes, dolphins and elephants – able to pass the mirror self-recognition test. If you mark a pigeon’s wing and let it look in a mirror it will try to remove the mark, realising that what it sees is a reflected image of its own body. Pigeons can recognise video footage of themselves shown with a five-second delay (three-year-old children find it difficult to comprehend a two-second delay). They are able to recognise individuals from photographs, and a neuroscientist at Keio University in Japan has trained them to distinguish between the paintings of Matisse and Picasso. ‘Modesty,’ Marianne Moore wrote, ‘cannot dull the lustre of the pigeon.’

I was shocked he provided so much identifying information. The club obviously follows these sites. We can bet they traced back the location of the leak in pretty short order, if true.

I'm sure they did trace it back...to their offices lol. It probably came from them. Attendance and excitement is at an all time low for the franchise. This is a typical move. Marketing 101. Create buzz. Just like when Apple released info pretending to be someone that found a prototype at the bar. Who creates an account to do that here? Most likely a troll looking for attention or the team trying to create attention. The likelihood of someone that's not a current fan/member to create an account to share his "knowledge" with NYCFC fans clamoring for stadium news is highly unlikely. In my opinion of course.

I get the sense that maybe a lot of the bureaucratic shit is coming to an end and the inevitability of the project is taking shape. At least, possibly, with land acquisition. Anything having to do with transit will likely end up being the final hurdle to all this. But if they have an internal timeline of "we're expecting 18 months until we can finally resolve all of it", I hope they're just making sure the ducks are in a row to make sure everything is set and can proceed ASAP.
It hasn’t even started in earnest. When it does, it will be very public. From rezoning to community board hearings, nothing bigger than an apartment gets planned on short notice in secret in NYC.

I must stay, when I walked up out of the parking garage tonight, I was the idiot standing next to Heritage Park, blocking foot traffic as I stared at the size of that useless parking garage, and imagined how perfect a stadium would look there.
I told a bunch of retiree STHs from NJ that we were getting a stadium near 153rd and now I have to be worried about my kneecaps being broken

Inter Miami have come up with a final plan for Freedom Park.

It got me wondering, somewhere there must be a detailed concept plan of what NYCFC would do on the various sites they are looking at wouldnt there ?
