When we finally get our stadium do you see it being elevated, street level or below grade?
We’ve talked about the stadium possibly going over tracks but thinking about the majority of SSS being below grade got me thinking about the challenges of building in the city. Can we even build a below grade stadium in the Bronx?
One of the main issues with building over something is getting people to their seats. Yankee stadium (and correct me if I’m wrong) is a below grade stadium. You enter on the top of the first level and 30% of the fans walk down to their seats and remainder walk up.

I'd be a little worried about flooding as we're in an area that can get affected by storm surges during hurricanes, and natural rising water levels. As mentioned before, building at ground level with direct access to maybe the Metro North from the stadium would be amazing. Maybe even an underground walkway to the B/D/4.
Interesting question. I think below grade stadiums are a good thing - much easier to get to your seat.
Yankee Stadium is a bit tricky, as you have that big set of stairs to get up to Babe Ruth Plaza near Gate 4, but then other entrances seem to at grade. I guess the whole place has been built on so much that it's hard to figure out where grade really is.
Assuming we are at the GAL site, it will depend somewhat on whether anything important is running under the elevator factory and the parking garages. I would assume not - especially in respect of the factory - but you never know.

I get it if they were planning for two years out, but not next season. And I get it if they’re more willing to move a game to Citi than have midweek games. But where he loses me is the “if not all” part. Because that still appears to point to the info he has, and therefore wouldn’t be the two scenarios I laid out above.
Furthermore, BCR’s response was pretty much along the lines of what
mgarbowski noted above. They already have had people commit based on YS seating charts. And Mark did a great job at highlighting the issues between YS and Citi seating charts in a previous post (not sure if this thread or not).But then Jonathan Sanchez’s response is that the Cavaliers forced fans to renew before knowing whether or not LeBron had resigned with the team. How is that comparable at all? I think it was an attempt by him to draw a line towards Brad Sims, but having fans commit to season tickets without knowing what their roster is going to look like is incredibly logistically different than what stadium they’re gonna play in.
My 2 cents: I can't see how the club would shift entirely to Citi Field without informing season ticket holders before the renewal process began. Now if the plan is to play 3-4 games there so we have less midweek matches I'm all for that. I also think it seems unlikely considering the Yankees own a portion of the club. Even though we know they want us out of YS, I would think $ trumps everything and moving games to Citi Field would mean less revenue from the soccer side.
Just noting that I intended the word drags in my post above to be drama. This is the first time a phone autocorrect used a word that not only makes complete sense but maybe even is an improvement.
Now I have to start witting QBFC instead of QFC. Whatever, they’re going to be Boro and that’s the end of it.
I’m also thinking if there’s teeth to the Citi rumor, it could be a Willets pivot and maybe a shared stadium w Boro scenario. Which would make all the sense in the world.
Or could be club realizing they will never play a playoff match at YS with the new schedule and want to ensure players are comfortable there for future seasons and playoff runs...
Either way, if we fill Citi in the playoffs this year like we did the last time it will have to make them think twice about the Bronx. Even FootyLovin couldnt double blind argue that.

I think they would do this to feel how the attendance in Queens is.
So the extreme idea of the entire season is to go from all of the scheduling issues experienced at YS with 3-day turnovers from sport to sport to the same scheduling issues at Citi with 3-day turnovers...... lots of brain power working on this one at club HQ.
Only way that works is if Mets share YS with the Yankees and NYCFC gets Citi to themselves.
