That’s part of what the discussion is. Cross streets, creating walkways and developing everything from the water to the Deegan and Macombs Dam Bridge to 145th St.

So are they complaining about something that has nothing to do with us

Nobody has complained about anything yet as far as I have seen. This is during the initial presentation. This is what is being suggested As part of the entire area

If the community wants to use the field and/or facilities for events during the off season, then i'm ok with that. Doesn't mean they get part ownership of the stadium, but let's say they get to use the facilities at a reduced cost. But during the season - definitely no community events that could damage the field.

It's with reason that they'd ask for access to the water front if we're going to develop that area anyway. Now's as good a time as any to bring it up. Shouldn't be that dificult to create some kind of access, right? Even if it's just a walkway.

The parking garage and reducing available parking in the area is a concern for sure. No ideas about how to best address that other than building another garage or making the yankees ones available to the community - at least partially.

The garages lose money at an alarming rate because they're usually empty and don't even hit max capacity on Yankee game days..

right. that was mentioend before. this just means that particular garage isn't used very much so the people who do use it can either find another solution or maybe give a limited amount of spots in the yankee garages as the alternative. it is a concern of the community or they wouldn't bring it up. but i think CFG/Yankees should be able to address it to the community's satisfaction. based on the fact that these garages are underused - consolidating would be an option.

Or maybe this line of concern isn’t rooted in reality. This happens with NIMBYs

I think it's a legit concern. If you own a car and live around the 153rd street garage you might pay for monthly parking there. If that garage is removed, where are you parking besides on the street?

This specific example is a concern someone in attendance who lives in the neighborhood brought up at the Q&A.

Maybe at one of the other 4 empty garages or 7 outdoor lots within 2-300 yards?

That person should get used to disappointment. The City is desperate to eliminate at least some of those garages and have someone pay for the privilege. The Yankees also would be happy to see that happen. It's going to happen whether a stadium is built or not. This is a complete non-concern. There are 47 reasons why the community might successfully stop the stadium. Saving the 153rd Street garage will not be one of them.

it's a legit concern, even if it doesn't effect a LOT of people. But, since it's true that those garages in the area are not being used to their capacity, to the point that they are in debt, then it should be doable to relocate the relatively small number of people who use it as their monthly parking spot. Even if it means giving those specific people a small subsidy for the inconvenience for a few years. It's a drop in the bucket for CFG

Why are we paying people to use another garage? The city is already subsidizing them by keeping the other garages open.

Depending how you look at it, theres a good chance nycfc will be the last team in MLS to build a stadium. Although i doubt the krafts will ever build one for NE unless they get public money.
