  • This confirms FredMertz FredMertz's report.
  • The private event was not NYCFC related even though Ian posted a picture of the NYCFC logo on the floor of their offices the same day. I'm guessing that image was taken earlier and meant to signify something completely different which was the Community Board presentation and he accidentally confused the hell out of all of us.
  • I think I might work on the same block as Fred.

I'm glad they had this meeting. I just wish 1) they had it years ago and 2) they were more up front about it.
The thing is though, “they” in this case is the community board and not NYCFC FO. In a way, this is even more a positive because it shows that the board wants to start dialogue on a potential situation that may occur in the near future and they are preparing themselves for it. There must be more info known by the board than what we know in terms of concrete facts of this potential plan. This gives me a positive outlook that the wheels are getting greased for when the proposal is actually submitted.

This. The front office knew this was happening and they didn’t even give Glenn Crooks a heads up.

Considering the importance of the event, someone from our Club had to have been in attendance.

They very well may have had someone there, but didn’t make it well known. In fact, they would be be better off that way.

Dylan Butler had some cryptic, negative tweet floating around. Anyone see that?

It sounds like at least two years before they would be comfortable putting shovels in the ground.

If the group doesn’t release their report until February let’s say, were in a holding pattern. Then we would feel comfortable doing the environmental impact study. Now we’re in February of 2021 at the earliest for that to be completed. Assuming we have everything else lined up, then we can submit for final approval. No clue how long that takes.

Would they start building in the fall of 2021? Would imagine the earliest this could be built would be fall of 2023.

I don't think there's any reason to wait for the ULI report to come out. Maddd/NYCFC should have enough feedback from them to incorporate. And there is no prerequisite to beginning the EIS process with that report published.

Here is what I would like to see.

Brad Sims does an on the record interview and acknowledges publicly what is happening in the South Bronx. Acknowledge that MADD Equities is working with NYCFC. Acknowledge that we back the community initiative here. Acknowledge that we will improve the South Bronx community and provide some detail (schools, infrastructure, facilities usage). No more denials and platitudes.

That won’t please anyone but it would be an admission of progress.

From the sounds of it... we're looking at end of next year before we're likely to get any official announcement of a stadium from the club. that's assuming everything between now and then goes well. hopefully, they are doing all the leg work to ensure everything does.

ok. i can stick it out another year. i think. let's focus on getting our first trophy and i'll be distracted enough not to think about this again til end of 2020.
