Do you think Man City fans are told there are financial constraints?
We're a salary-capped league. Man City is in a spend-all-you-want league (to a point). Up to the financial fair play rules limits Man City can spend as much as they want with no limit. We can't. Three DPs on our team would be near the lowest paid players on Man City. It's just not even comparable.

However, it would be nice if our 3 DP slots were filled with world-class or impactful players. Or, you know, filled at all.

Our current DPs are an over-the-hill Maxi, an underwhelming Medina, and, best case scenario, "a player to be named this summer."

We currently have one Designated Player. We sold our second and fourth most expensive players this off-season to save money. Our third most expensive player is a black hole but CFG refuses to take the contract hit to move him on.

Yes. This is a semi-capped league but offers a ton of loopholes. There is a mechanism by which they could spend like ZMan City. And they don’t. And that’s why, when down 2-1 tonight, we brought on a kid that rebuffed us three times to sign for Yale.

On the Stadium, he basically made it sound like they have their spot and they're now in the public approval process.
Just to clarify, they are not in the public approval process yet (ULURP).

I think I know what you're saying as most things "are together" and now they need to go through the appropriate steps to get into ULURP and those could still be categorized as "public review" to some degree.

Just wanted to provide that clarification as your post could be interpreted as Sims saying that the project is in ULURP now, which it isn't, and isn't exactly what he said.

Thank you for clarifying. Obviously I am not as well-versed in this stuff as you are.

I wouldn’t expect it to enter the ULURP process until the new mayoral administration.

But do expect it to enter then, and proceed briskly.

I mean, it didn't matter for Hillary...or Mitt Romney who seems to have a home in every state.

My thinking is that his voting base is still living in the suburbs working remotely while other folks like Adam’s and Stringer will be able to get their voters out.

do the Dems have a runoff if no one hits 50%?

It's ranked choice voting. No run off. If someone doesn't get 50%+ on the first ballot then it's the lowest person getting eliminated and people with that candidate as their first choice then have their second choice added. Goes until there's a candidate with 50%+.
