Howdy all. About to throw in the towel on my season tickets. Been here since the beginning. Tired of waiting for a proper stadium that may never come. Asking y'all before I hit the CANCEL button. Any serious news about stadium plans?

All the same rumors and conjencture.

I am confident that there will be an announcement before the end of June (of some calendar year TBD).

yes, temp jobs to build the stadium. stadium staff to maintain and clean, ushers, security. Maybe my ignorance on how stadiums are staffed comes into play, but I would assume our stadium would have its own staff and not shared with yankee stadium staff.

Plus, I believe I read somewhere that it is law in NYC to build affordable housing with every development project. So there's the addition of that.

Extra revenue could come in the form of having an actual soccer specific stadium in NYC.. international games, exhibition games, etc being hosted there to make money for the club and the city through tourists and people visiting the city. tax revenue for the building itself. lots of ways a new, successful stadium can make money for a city.

They staff up for 17 home games now and will staff up for 17 games in a new stadium. Every hour worked in the new stadium is an hour less worked at the old stadium. NY has no shortage of venues of all sizes, so it's hard to make an argument that a new stadium would add incremental events.

I guess they can have a woman's team and their youth teams play, but those won't generate more chance revenue.

It's hard to justify a new stadium to keep a team from leaving or to attract a team from somewhere else. With the likely tax breaks, it's impossible to justify it as a revenue generator for a team that already plays in the city.

I'm not against a new stadium, just against the city painting up for it, especially for the benefit of the richest family in the world.

Where did you read that?!?

With every development project? Pretty sure that’s not the case.

i just looked into it more and it's the Mandatory Inclusionary Housing policy. But brief review seems it's only for residential developments in specifically zoned areas. Guess it would not apply to a stadium project.

Founding end line mezz, not front row $467 (2020)
Posting again with renewed request. Will also post in 2020 ticket thread. If this data is accurate, the whopping $9 difference between founding and non-founding in Endline Mezzanine is pretty insulting.

PLEASE EVERYONE POST THEIR PRICES INCLUDING FOUNDING MEMBER OR NOT AND FRONT ROW OR NOT.

See below for my post from a few weeks ago.

Okay. It's time for me to come clean with some things I've been hearing on the Stadium. These come variously from three people at firms that are consulting for NYCFC on different aspects of the project and one person high up at the Club. Two of the three consultants were people I spoke with 3 months ago or so. The other conversations, which provide most of the information, were in the last few weeks.
  • The Club believes it is "close" to announcing its planned location for a stadium. In this context "close" means by the end of the year, although I get the sense they are hoping it will be sooner than later.
  • It will then take about a year for permits and another 2-3 years for construction.
  • The location in mind is "near Yankee Stadium".
  • Size was variously reported as 30,000 and 25,000, expandable to 30,000.
  • Two different architecture firms have been retained to draw up competing site plans.
  • The club has retained a cost consulting firm and has reached out to banks on a preliminary basis to secure debt financing.
  • Some of the external consultants believe that the process has been slower than necessary because the Club has to deal with bureaucratic issues out of Abu Dhabi (e.g. time needed to get sign offs and financial commitments, etc.).
  • The Club has a set price in mind that it will not exceed for the stadium; separately, I heard a figure of $500 million.
Clearly, there is a lot of smoke around right now - probably more than any other time since the Club kicked off in 2015. That said, lots of things can kill a deal like this before it is ever announced. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

For reference, Endline Mezzanine, founding member and front row is $476 (2020). Seems founding + front = non-founding + non-front.
aw hell naw......... fwiw I have founding member + front row in 214b......... if right now founding = non-founding prices on our invoices then i believe the prices are probably wrong in the system.

Either my founding discount is not being applied yet or non-founding prices are going up more. Or option C, telling brad to fuck off means they cancelled my founders status.

Anyway. Last season my row 1 tix were on average $24 a game. Now its reflected at $28 per game, so +16%. So maybe they cut 2 or 3 bucks for founder status. Still a 4-8% increase YoY, which sucks cause why?!? The games aren't 4-8% better. There is no inflation in the world. They'll pricing themselves out of STH soon enough.

They are raising prices every season while the single match and secondary market keeps decreasing in price. It’s ludicrous.

Been seeing more and more FM and long time STH announcing on Twitter they’re throwing in the towel. Would put money on the fact this will be a nasty drop when the dust settles.....

It worries me that prices are going up when there is really no reason for them to other than the fact that attendance is going down and they want to maintain the numbers by selling less of more expensive tickets.

That's not a good attitude to have. Our payroll is a lot less now that we don't have Villa. Yea, we had a high transfer fee with Mitri, but otherwise he doesn't get paid all that much. On top of it all, our owners are not exactly hurting for money! This feels like a houston situation where the owners are being cheap cause we are not a primary focus and they're pushing the cost of the eventual stadium project onto whatever fans are left. Very sad indeed if that is the case.

CFG needs to flash the cash and spend money to keep fans happy. Freeze prices until the stadium is OPEN and even then, only raise prices very slightly and allow STH owners a 5 year price freeze grace period.
