None of the above.
I disagree. I think interest has fallen off considerably. I can also verify that we’ve lost traffic considerably. My opinion is that supporters don’t take news like this seriously anymore. How many times have we had info come out before from a third party source and it’s followed by silence from the club? Every single time. Until the club announces something or something truly groundbreaking leaks it’ll stay quiet.

+1

i keep saying the only thing that will re ignite peoples interest is saying we are done we got it and we are starting to dig for the new stadium.

news like this is similar or inferred from the outfield posts, which they do an incredibly good job at considering the circumstances.

Not everything deserves a negative spin. The news is consistent with what you would expect the next steps to be. The news is in line with the great recent work SoupInNYC SoupInNYC and co have done through terrific and a thorough job reporting. This is not a shock or an OMG moment. It shouldn’t warrant 12 pages of replies in an hour. It’s not because most of us are jaded. It’s because it makes sense. And possibly another step. This isn’t inconsistent with some of what you said Dan.

Exactly. It doesn’t mean anyone is jaded or is bailing on the team or the forums.

Wasn’t intending to be negative, apologies if I came off that way. I got excited when I saw the tweet. I understand that small steps like these are necessary to the process. If this would have come out even 1 year ago the buzz would have been bigger than it is today. I was simply trying to make that point.

To clarify - I wasn’t saying you were being negative at all. Was just referring back to the multiple choice options in Jon Jon ‘s original email as negative explanations for the lack of replies. And offering what I thought was a likely reason for the lack of instant reaction.

I hate the optics of crap like this. Nobody in politics should ever be allowed to leave their role for one at a company that has had direct (successful or unsuccessful) business with. Reeks of either payback, or immediate leveraging of relationships.

Edit: I looked up her resume on LinkedIn and there isn’t a single bit of her education or work experience that makes her a viable candidate for a development company outside of being a political insider with a Rolodex. She’s completely unqualified for the role. That’s fcking quid pro quo territory.

Agreed. But if it gets us our stadium, I'll take a little shadiness.

It’s not just NYC - it’s all politics and it speaks to the fact that these politicians have no ethical standards.

If other rumors be true, they claim 2023 opener which seems a bit quick but still possible? I just don't want a DC situation. I think most supporters, if a stadium is announced, will be happy to wait an extra year if the stadium is made high-quality.

Is this the first verified meeting between the team and a stakeholder?

Something like that. As detailed in SoupInNYC SoupInNYC ’s Outfield articles, the team has been in some contact with DCP and various people in city government over the last couple of years regarding preliminary discussions around this site. But I think this is the first direct community engagement. It looks like tangible forward movement to me
