Steak Thread

Moving to the burbs in July. Very excited to increase my steak game. You can only do so much without a proper grill.

Peter Lugers or GTFO. Dont go there for the atmosphere but theres no better steak in my opinion.
Agreed - it's probably trendy to suggest otherwise, but I always am satisfied with PL, and I even enjoy the atmosphere. Leaving aside some of the other obvious NYC spots, I have always really enjoyed Porter House in the Time Warner Center, and in the other direction, Delmonico's.

Haven’t been to PL’s yet, but my favorite steak spot in the city so far is Del Frisco’s Double Eagle

Never been to Salt Bae's place but ive been to Smith and Wollensky and id never go again. Its decent but way over priced and nothing really great about it.

I believe you meant to say "Salt Bae's SALT PALACE" but I accept your typo. Listing that many steak places can take a toll on one's typing.

Good list. In addition to the ones I mentioned earlier, my favs on this list are Minetta, Beatrice and Bowery. Fans of most of the rest as well.

You're very much overpaying for a okay steak with a guy sprinkling salt on it like sprinkles on ice cream. That's the definition of shit.

Not sure it belongs in the Steak Thread. But since I already gave a kosher rec, I should mention there has been a renaissance of sorts in Kosher BBQ. I know it sounds crazy. But for someone who didn’t always keep kosher, some of these places can compete with the best in the South. Seriously! If you don’t mind not mixing with any milk products, give it a shot.

Best one is Izzy’s BBQ Addiction in Crown Heights.

ETA. Reminds me of Japanese whiskey. How a group got obsessed with a type of food/drink and spent ridiculous R&D and time on making their product the best. Well that’s NY Jews and BBQ at the moment. Check it out.

This is a fun review to take in. Like the part about the receipt not being itemized and an automatic 18% service charge added with an additional line for gratuity.

Rich people will still go there just to post it on Instagram. It seems like a lot of athletes are giving him tons of free promotion too. Including some of our own. Ring used to post from there all the time. Haven’t noticed anything recently.
